2023 Cadillac Lyriq Overview
The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is a battery-electric luxury crossover and the first of several pure EVs that will be released under the Cadillac brand umbrella in the coming years. It has a similar overall footprint to the Cadillac XT5 crossover, boasting a slightly longer wheelbase and wider stance, but with a stubbier overall length and lower height.
The Lyriq rides on the GM BEV3 platform and utilizes a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with GM’s proprietary Ultium design. A single Ultium Drive electric motor is mounted in the rear of the vehicle and produces 340 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. This setup provides a Cadillac-estimated over 300 miles of range on a full charge. The electric crossover supports DC fast charging at a rate of 190 kW, which can add roughly 76 miles of range in about 10 minutes’ time. A segment-leading 19.2 kW onboard charger can be used to charge at home, as well, and will add around 52 miles of range per hour.
GM will begin taking customer reservations for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq in September of 2021. Production will begin at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee in the first-quarter of 2022. Pricing starts at $59,990 in the U.S., while Canadian customers can expect a price tag of CA$69,898. These price figures include destination freight charges.
