General Motors just launched a new advertising campaign for the Chevy Trailblazer in South Korea, the home country of the brand’s global small crossover. By developing a music-based marketing strategy for the second model year of the Trailblazer, the automaker hopes to build on its popularity among younger customers in the South Korean market.
The new ad campaign for the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer stars American singer and model Park Jaebeom, of South Korean descent, better known as Jay Park. The artist, who participated in the Trailblazer RS Midnight launch campaign last year, is teaming up once again with Chevrolet by featuring his new song “Summeride,” which will serve as the anthem for the upcoming Trailblazer announcements in Korea.
“We are happy to have a new collaboration between Trailblazer and artist Jay Park, who are both icons of constant challenge and pioneering spirit, and trendy and hip,” said Marketing Manager of GM Korea, Jeong-Yoon Jeong, in a press release. “Through this advertisement, we will show new generations the unique charm of Trailblazer,” he added.
The song Summeride from the new Chevy Trailblazer campaign in South Korea depicts a refreshing summer ride with a catchy beat, seeking to bring energy to young customers, the crossover’s main target audience. GM hopes this theme song, which talks about travel, friends and freedom, will captivate those who are tired and frustrated by the mobility limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In conjunction with the new ad campaign, the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer adds the Monaco Blue paint color to the Activ trim level which, combined with the Pure White roof on this active lifestyle variant of the crossover, conveys a refreshing urban feel. In fact, this shade inspired by the blue of the Mediterranean Sea is the thematic color with which the Trailblazer will be featured in TV commercials and digital images.
The new Chevy Trailblazer advertising campaign began airing on April 12th on all digital and traditional media platforms in South Korea, and follows the 2022 model’s launch that occurred earlier this year. The Trailblazer was the brand’s best-selling nameplate in the South Korean market through March, thanks to the strategy of only offering the most powerful engine choice and adding more standard features without increasing the vehicle’s price.
