The GM Authority Take
The Envision’s 51 percent growth in Q1 2021 followed a 1 percent increase in Q4 2020, a 44 percent rebound in Q3 2020, a 14 percent decline in Q2 2020, and a 9 percent drop in Q1 2020.
Notably, the Envision was completely overhauled for the 2021 model year. Moving to the GM E2 platform shared with the Cadillac XT4, the new model is currently undergoing launch.

Meanwhile, the current, first-gen model is being discontinued in North America. In China, the current Envision will remain on sale as the Envision, while the all-new, second-gen model is sold as the Envision S.
We posit that the significant increase in Envision deliveries during Q1 2021 was the result of the following two factors:
- Strong interest in the all-new, 2021 Envision, and
- Run-out of remaining last-generation Envision
We expect the all-new 2021 Buick Envision to perform significantly better in the segment than the current model as long as inventory/supply remains stabile.

Good! I am not an SUV guy, but I do like the styling and I’m glad they’re doing pretty good.
Seriously who is buying the NX? That thing is ancient and not competitive. Gotta be buying on badge alone. Still believe Buick should be using more premium parts to better compete with Lexus and Acura.
Do buyers even know this thing is made in China?
Or a better question, do they even care?
This is exactly why we can’t have more products made in the U.S. Too many Americans don’t care about supporting their own country.
Blame the UAW….
BUILD IT IN THE U.S.A.
I’m all for building in the USA, but how can they do it competitively? Is it mandatory for the UAW to be involved? Can a deal be struck in some state to offer a good wage but still can sell the car in the US and make a profit? I am unsure if the Union is automatically involved.
If so, I’ll buy one.
Build a nice looking and well designed vehicle, and people will buy it. I’m not going to jump on the “made in China” thing like so many others, because I understand the global aspect of this business. However, I do prefer products produced/assembled in the USA. So just think if this Envision was assembled next to the XT4? Bet sales would be higher yet.
What kind of reporting is this? When combined with? So Cadillac and Buick are the same brand now? Or are you laboring under the impression that Buick sales would go to Cadillac and the converse if one of these brands was terminated? I think not. That’s not to say the Envision is not a nice product, it is. However when I learned it was made in China, I purchased the Corsair. I’m not dogmatic but during this pandemic with so many hurting, it just made more sense to keep the dollars at home.
Corsair I believe is made in Mexico?
I was planning on buying one, research found it is made in China. Designed in the US. Built in China. Owned a 2 buicks in the past, never again.
