General Motors pulled the veil off the production-ready version of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq just last week, but the automaker has already released the first official advertisement starring the new battery-electric crossover.
The 60-second ad, which was uploaded to Cadillac’s YouTube channel this week, is titled ‘Lighting the Way’ and follows a successful Wall Street executive as she reflects on her career path while she walks through an empty office building. In the meantime, a valet fetches her Cadillac Lyriq from the office building’s rooftop parking garage and drops it off at the entrance. The ad features the following inspirational copy:
“The light. It comes from within. Illuminating the way forward, even as it reminds you of where you’ve been. It’s always there, growing brighter. A symbol of how far you’ve come. It’s a reflection of what’s possible. It drives you and it guides you, to become a shining example. A light maker, charging ahead, recognizing that the impact we make comes from the energy we create. Introducing the all-electric Lyriq. The Cadillac of EVs: lighting the way.”
The ad also gives us a look at the customizable ambient lighting in the Cadillac Lyriq, which is one feature of the vehicle that we haven’t seen too much of so far. When the valet hops in the vehicle, they adjust the ambient lighting using the Lyriq’s digital display screen, changing the color of the lighting from light blue to yellow. The touch-based controls appear to feature adjustments for the color itself, along with brightness and saturation.
Reservations for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will open this September, with the electric crossover set to enter production at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee early next year. We’re expecting the marketing campaign for the Lyriq to heat up as its launch approaches, so this ad is likely the first of many that we’ll see in the coming months.
