The 2022 GMC Terrain introduces a mid-cycle refresh for the compact five-door crossover, and now offers standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 2022 GMC Terrain offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment across all trim levels, including SLE, SLT, AT4 and Denali. The feature is tagged with RPO code PPW.
For reference, the SLE trim level is equipped with the GMC Infotainment system with seven-inch touchscreen (RPO code IOR) as standard, while the SLT and AT4 trim levels are equipped with the GMC Infotainment System with eight-inch touchscreen (RPO code IOS). All three trims offer the GMC Infotainment System with Navigation and eight-inch touchscreen (RPO code IOU) as optional equipment, bundled with the Infotainment Package I (RPO code Y29) on the SLE trim, and the Infotainment Package II (RPO code Y3I) on the SLT and AT4 trim levels. The Terrain Denali will arrive a few months after the rest of the lineup, and it’s unclear yet which system it will feature as standard.
The GMC Terrain was originally scheduled for a model refresh with the 2021 model year. However, as a result of complications resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was pushed back to the 2022 model year.
General Motors officially unveiled the 2022 GMC Terrain in March, showing off a revised exterior, new cabin features, and the new off-road-oriented AT4 trim level.
As GM Authority covered previously, the 2022 GMC Terrain is not offered with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine. Instead, the crossover is available exclusively with the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine. Output is rated at 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, with the GM nine-speed automatic onboard for cog swaps.
Availability for the refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain opens up this summer.
