The 2022 Chevy Traverse will be available in up to eight exterior colors, just as the 2021 Chevy Traverse is. Plot twist: GM Authority has learned that they won’t be the same eight.
Stage one of this process is that three colors available for the 2021 Chevy Traverse will be removed from the list before production ends. Dealers will be able to order Cajun Red Tintcoat only until the order cycle on April 22nd,until April 29th and Satin Steel Metallic until May 13th.
For the 2021 model year, Graphite Metallic and Satin Steel Metallic are both included in the price of the Traverse, while Cajun Red Tintcoat is offered as a $495 option. All three are available in the LT, RS, Premier and High Country trim levels, but not on the base L and LS.
The trio will no longer be available for the 2022 Traverse. Instead, they will be replaced by Northsky Blue Metallic, Silver Sage Metallic and Cherry Red Tintcoat, bringing the total number of colors for Chey’s largest crossover back up to eight.
The Chevy Traverse was one of many General Motors vehicles which was scheduled to receive a mid-cycle enhancement (MCE) for the 2022 model year. However, this was pushed back due to complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The interior and exterior designs along with some interior elements will be updated, while the powertrain will remain the same.

The 2021 Traverse was Chevrolet’s third – and GM’s fourth – best-selling vehicle in the United States in Q1 of 2021, with 38,037 units sold. It was beaten only by the Chevy Silverado pickup truck (126,591 units), Chevy Equinox crossover (63,218 units) and GMC Sierra pickup truck (62,917 units). The Chevy Malibu – the last Chevrolet sedan still in production – was next up, at 26,987 units.
The current Traverse rides on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform shared with the North American-market Buick Enclave. It is built at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan. The only engine available for the 2021 model year is the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline motor, which produces 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The atmospheric six is paired with GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission.

In short: grey is standard, color is extra.
Lost me , got a 2021 sienna hybrid AWD. Just finished a drive and getting 5.9l per 100 km. The biggest loss for GM is not putting voltec into traverse with AWD
They’re STILL not going to do midnight blue? So if I get the Traverse in the next couple years, it’ll have to be black cherry metallic. Why are they having such a hard time adding such a basic color option to such a popular model?
I would guess because it is not a popular color. I personally know no one that gravitates to blue on mainstream vehicles. Specialty blues on specialty cars, yes. Otherwise yawn.
Being in the car biz, any time I’d buy mainstream vehicles for inventory in blue, they aged and we’d lose $$ almost every time just to dump them.same cars in other colors flew off the lot.
Why would you remove a popular beautiful shade of red??? We love our Traverse and we’re planning on a 22 same color. May be moving to a different car. Too bad. Why fix something that isn’t broken???!
I have been looking for a cajun red for a year and half with particular options-but it is nearly impossible to find one in cajun red, even if you are willing to pay the extra for it! I will be spending my money on a different car!
Silver Sage Metallic – just a girls name for another shade of Gray. They’ll get to 50 yet.
Disappointed with the removal of Cajun red. That’s the best color they had.
Who cares about the new colors!!! The Traverse is a really good vehicle that gets REALLY BAD GAS MILAGE!! forget the color crap and give us better gas mileage, then you will have a really great vehicle
