The optional Sport Touring package for the 2022 Buick Envision will come with some additional new features that were not included for the 2021 model year.
The Sport Touring Package (RPO code WJU) is currently offered as an optional extra on the 2021 Envision with the Preferred and Essence trim levels only. For the 2021 Envision, the Sport Touring Package includes the following equipment (relevant RPO codes in parentheses):
- 20″ wheels with Dark finish (RPO PYS)
- Unique ST Badging, grille surround and mesh inserts
- Black roof rails (RPO V5H)
- Body-color door handles (RPO D75)
- Lower trim/wheel arch moldings with Dark Gloss finish (RPO PJV)
- Exhaust bezels, window trim and mirror caps with Dark Gloss finish
- Rear cargo compartment cover (RPO CGY)
Meanwhile, the improved Sport Touring package for the 2022 Buick Envision will include all that equipment plus the following additional equipment:
- Headrests with the Sport Touring logo
- Red-stitched leather seating
- Carpeted front floor mats with Sport Touring logo and rear floor mats (RPO B50)
- Sport pedals (RPO JF5)
As we reported previously, a fairly significant 30 percent of all 2021 Buick Envision orders included the ST package. With this newly added equipment sweetening the deal, the take-rate for the Sport Touring package may be set to increase on the 2022 Buick Envision.
The 2022 Buick Envision represents the second year of the second-generation model and sees the introduction of several minor changes and updates. These changes include the introduction of a new exterior color, Sapphire Metallic, which replaces Dark Moon Blue Metallic in the crossover’s color palette, along with new wheel options and some new dealer-installed (LPO-level) accessories.
Otherwise, the 2022 Buick Envision continues to be powered by the same engine as the 2021 model, the turbocharged 2.0L LSY I4, which produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The powerplant is mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission and comes paired with front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive.

Seems like logical things for that package.
I almost leased a new ST last week…that is until I found out the dealership was not honoring GM employee discounts and their Envision’s were marked up about $4000-$5000 (the Avenir and ST had the highest markup) because they were the only game in town that had new car inventory. If you had GM employee, they weren’t going to charge you over window sticker. If you had GM Friends & Family, you were only going to be charged a small markup of around $2000-$3000 depending on the model. I walked away laughing and went about my day.
they never learn.
Test drove an Avenir and was disappointed at the engine noise during moderate acceleration. GM should improve.
Same here. I was set on getting an Avenir until I drove one. That engine and accompanying noise was a total let down. The 2l turbo in my Verano is a class above the thrasher they have switched to. Bummer for GM.
Tim: That is only going to get worse over the next few months with this micro-chip issue. All brands all over the world are going to be hit hard with this, which is only following issues created by Covid 19. All dealers everywhere will be taking this chance to actually make some money on the front end of new cars because it’s going to be a sellers market for a while. Our Mazda and Volvo reps are telling us that we (all Mazda and all Volvo dealers) will be out or nearly out of inventory by mid-summer. What inventory is out there will be bringing higher prices. The really hot models will be selling for over sticker.
My 19 years of experience tells me that if you can wait it out, do so. You will b able to buy the same car in 8 months for thousands less.
That is actually my plan. I was looking to maximize trade-in value, but was unaware of the other side of the car-buying coin. Probably will be looking over the winter…
Tim: Actually, now is the best time to sell a used car. I’m sure many people can’t sell one without getting another to replace it. But just in case you are one of the few that could sell a current vehicle and wait to replace with a new one for about 8 months, you would get the best of both worlds.
I rather buy this car than any any Crossover Chevy is selling. In fact the only Chevy things I’d buy are the Tahoe/Burb, Silverado, Camaro, and Corvette. The Colorado is okay but the interior is severely lacking that truck feel, missed op by GM to capture mid size truck buyers and younger buyers opting for Fords nicer interior
Need side mirror indicators
Would have been nice if they could have tuned it for some extra ponies…
I love the new design of the Envision. But, if they are going to put a ST badge on it, wouldn’t it make sense to put a bigger engine in it. Like the Ford Explorer ST. #IJS
An ST badge with less HP than in other applications and those gross un-Buick like wheels. How about an option to put nicer looking proper rims and some real ponies under the hood like Ford does with the Escape and Explorer?
