The 2021 Chevrolet Trax features various minor changes and updates, including the addition of the turbocharged 1.4L I4 LE2 gas engine, which replaces the turbo-four LUV engine of the same displacement. Additionally the 2021 Trax adds four new exterior colors to its palette: Crimson Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Shadow Gray Metallic, and Midnight Blue Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Blue hue.
Assigned color code G5J and touch-up paint code WA-434E, Midnight Blue Metallic is the only blue color available for the 2021 Chevrolet Trax and one of four dark hues offered. The new color is one of seven metallic paint options for the 2021 model. Notably, three of the four new exterior colors mentioned above are metallic paint options and one is a tricoat option.
The Midnight Blue hue is significantly darker than the Pacific Blue Metallic color, which has been deleted for the 2021 model year. This makes Midnight Blue the only blue hue available for the 2021 Chevy Trax.
The new Midnight Blue Metallic color is included in the base price of the 2021 Chevrolet Trax. It is available with both interior color combinations and all trim levels.
2021 Chevrolet Trax Trim Levels:
- LS (1LS)
- LT (1LT)
2021 Chevrolet Trax Interior Color Combinations:
- Jet Black
- Jet Black with Light Ash Gray
As of this writing, the 2021 Chevy Trax can already be found at dealers, since the GM Bupyeong plant in Korea has been assembling and shipping the 2021 model to dealers for quite some time now, with the 2022 model set to enter production shortly. As such, models in the Midnight Blue Metallic exterior color are already on dealer lots. Availability varies by dealer, so check with yours for complete details.
