2021 Buick Encore Gets New Cinnabar Metallic Color: First Look

The 2021 Buick Encore features various minor changes and updates, such as a “new” standard engine – the turbocharged 1.4L LE2 I4 engine in place of the older LUV motor with the same displacement – as well as the addition of two new exterior colors: Dark Moon Blue Metallic and Cinnabar Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new red-orange Cinnabar hue.

Availability

Assigned color code GFM and touch-up paint code WA-294F, Cinnabar Metallic is the only non-neutral hue available for the 2021 Buick Encore. It’s also one of four metallic colors available for the Buick crossover, and one of six total exterior color options. Notably, Cinnabar Metallic has a bit of an orange tint to it when compared to Winterberry Red Metallic, which was discontinued for the 2021 model year.

The new Cinnabar Metallic color is not included in the base price of the 2021 Encore. Instead, it carries an additional cost of $495. The color option also includes lower exterior accents in Anthracite, as opposed to the Satin Nickel Metallic lower exterior accent color available on models finished in the White Frost Tricoat exterior color.

The new red-orange hue is available with all interior color combinations. Cinnabar Metallic is also available on Encore Preferred models, and is not available on the base trim level (1SV).

Launch Timeframe

As of this writing, U.S. Chevy dealers are well-stocked with the 2021 Encore, since the GM Bupyeong factory in Korea has been assembling and shipping the 2021 model to dealers for quite some time now. In fact, 2022 models are about to enter production. As such, 2021 models in the Cinnabar Metallic exterior color are currently sitting on dealer lots. That said, availability varies by dealer, so check with yours for current inventory and complete details.
