Just yesterday, we got a look at the revised headlight design set to debut with the upcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500, specifically the new headlamps slated for LT-and-above trim levels. Now, we’re taking another look at the refreshed Silverado’s headlamps, but this time, we’re checking out the revised designs slated for the 2022 Silverado 1500 Work Truck, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss.
To clarify, the headlamp redesign we covered yesterday will be offered on refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country trim levels, all of which will incorporate LED lighting elements, with high-capacity LEDs for the High Country. Meanwhile, the revised headlamps seen here are slated for WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss models, and include halogen lighting elements.
Getting in close with these new spy photos, we see that the headlamps set for lower trims in the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 lineup appear to include a new angled “notch” around the edges of the upper lighting section, unlike the predominantly rectangular upper headlight section of the higher trims that we covered previously. It also looks as though the inner lighting graphics are different as well.
As a complement to the new headlamp design, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado will introduce additional changes to the front front fascia, while the cabin will incorporate an all-new layout, with a larger infotainment screen, replacement of the column-mounted shifter on certain models, and high-end materials. The 2022 Silverado will also offer Super Cruise, GM’s semi-autonomous driver assist program, likely as an available option for the High Country trim level.
As for the greasy bits, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado will offer a more robust rear suspension, while the base-level 4.3L V6 LV3 engine will be deleted from the powertrain lineup. The 2022 model year will also usher in the new Silverado ZR2 off-roader.

When do the 2022 hit the local dealerships? I want to get the 2021 Sierra 1500 but maybe I should wait.
Thanks
Seriously though. Dates!?!?? I’m wanting a 2500 he custom, but am wondering what equipment will be included especially with the new interior, and maybe an option to add the gas 6.6 with the camaro’s 10L90
just wait if you can
I’m ready to see it. Hope they killed off the “gills”!
How about the changes to the WT and Custom trim levels?
Regular cab LT? More interior storage on the WT? can we have real buttons for the DIC in lower trims PLEASE!?
Will this have fog lights unlike the new Suburban??
Not a fan of push button gear selector. I can change gears now without looking. Going to have to look to find those little selector buttons. Are buttons better/easier or just different?
I do like the new sporty body style. I’d prefer a slightly lowered 2wd version option with the same wide fenders & bed. Serious street tires & handling suspension package to carve through the canyons twisty roads.
GM wants to push you to higher trim levels.GM must feel R/C are for municipal and worker level use only,if you are a business owner that actually works your business as opposed to being a whipcracker only, you need to have two trucks. With all the emphasis on safety these days IMO fog lights are the most basic safety item, not only in fog they also light up the side of the road especially in dark rural areas and they are not available on LT non z71 trims so putting them on lower trim levels is doubtful.
It’s about time we got new lights with all the down rating that the business books give the lights off the Silverado we certainly need better lights instead of going out and buying better lights all the time thank you
Yes to better lighting! Drop the halogen lights on all grades of Chevrolet and GMC pickups. Give people the choice on the custom and Trail Boss to upgrade their options as not everyone wants a crew cab when a single cab will do.
I am looking forward to the changes to the regular cab long bed, I hope the finally get some upgrades. Been waiting for 3 years since Chevrolet changed the regular cab in 2018 from an LT option to only the ugly work truck. If they finally make a nice regular cab long bed (hopefully in the LT trim) I will be buying one!
Man, never listen to your customers do you, I’m a die hard Chevy guy and I just don’t get it, invest in quality, how many issues are going to be with this “new 1500” I have a 00 Camaro ss, I’ve only changed the water pump, seriously is it that hard??? My family has all been Chevy, I got a 2016 2500 6.0, I tell everyone I know to stay away from the 1500s. Like one of the other comments, make one set of headlights if your looking to save a buck, go LED through the whole dam line. It’s not that hard. Push button shift? Seriously? That’s why I got a WT model with 4×4 on the floor, those auto/manual switches are nice, but only nice when new. Also invest in push button start across every model and line. Stop making 2 steering columns for the same truck. I drive hard and keep my vehicles a long time. I know one thing, you don’t change what has been working for years!
I agree with what you said except about push button start there are hackers around the world working to make it as simple as walking up to your vehicle and driving off with it and I doubt the oems would do a recall, especially if it is older.
What they need to do is update the hideous 2500, that monstrosity looks terrible!
