NCM Performance Track Day Experience Features Corvette Racing All-Stars

Performance Track Day, the track driving experience company started by ex-Corvette Racing driver Johnny O’Connell and fellow wheelman Darren Law, is set to host a star-studded event at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park this June.

The two-day track driving event will allow sports car owners to take their own vehicle on track under the guidance of professional race car drivers, giving them to capability to experience the car’s full potential in a controlled environment. Attendees will receive both on and off-track instruction from an all-star cast of Corvette Racing alumni, including Jan Magnussen, Corvette Hall of Fame driver Andy Pilgrim and current Corvette factory driver Jordan Taylor. O’Connell, co-founder of Performance Track Day, was also a longtime GM factory racing driver and has won for both Corvette Racing and Cadillac Racing.

On the first day of the Performance Track Day experience, attendees will be invited to a dinner reception featuring a special guest appearance from former Corvette Racing team boss Doug Fehan. The second day will feature on-track and off-track instruction, with participants split into separate groups that will rotate between different coaches. The day will conclude with one final group meeting.

Jordan Taylor

“I can’t wait to be a part of Darren and Johnny’s program coming up in June,” Jordan Taylor said of his upcoming coaching opportunity. “They have put together a great program with their track days and I am really excited to be there with the group of coaches they’ve assembled. I haven’t done a huge amount of coaching in the past, but each time I’ve done it, I’ve found it to be very rewarding to see someone grow in the sport I love and I often find myself learning new things that I can use when I go back to racing. It’s going to be a cool event being in Corvette’s backyard, so can’t wait to see all the Corvette owners there in a few months.”
The NCM Motorsports Park where the event will be held features a two-mile, 13-turn west course and a one-mile, 10-turn East course, which can be combined into multiple configurations or into one large complete circuit.
Registration for the Performance Track Day experience, which will be held on June 19th and 20th, 2021, is open now. Check out this link for more information on this star-studded track day event.
