The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 was originally offered with two rear spoiler options, including the Z51 Performance Package rear spoiler, and the High Wing Spoiler classified as an LPO-level (dealer-installed) Genuine Corvette Accessory. However, demand for the High Wing Spoiler was so great, Chevrolet ended up dropping it from the order books, but now, the High Wing Spoiler is slated to return next month as an available option for the 2021 Corvette.
General Motors is currently targeting “a return to order availability” for the C8 Corvette High Wing Spoiler on April 8th, which means customers will soon have the option to add the most dramatic spoiler option to the tail of their new mid-engine sports car.
The C8 Corvette High Wing Spoiler is expected to price out at $995, and will be offered in a wide variety of colors.
While aftermarket companies like ACS Composite offer replicas of the C8 Corvette High Wing Spoiler, customers who prefer the official Chevrolet piece will be happy to learn of its return.
Back in 2019, we asked GM Authority readers which C8 Corvette spoiler option was the best via a poll. While the majority of poll takers preferred to go wingless, the High Wing Spoiler in Carbon Flash was part of a three-way tie for second with the Z51 spoiler in body-color finish and the Z51 spoiler in Carbon Flash. The High Wing Spoiler in a body color finish was a distant third.
As GM Authority covered previously, production of the 2021 Corvette is now back up and running following a production shutdown the first week of March as a result of a transmission parts supply shortage.
As a reminder, the C8 Corvette mounts the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine just behind the cabin, producing 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque when equipped with the factory performance exhaust system.

Why doesn’t GM give the option to add or buy as an add on either the high spoiler or the lower spoiler. Why can’t both be available to get?
I wish they would offer the good ol HT 4100 as an engine option. This was probably the finest engine GM ever engineered, right after the small block Chevy.
What does that engine have to do with the Corvette high wing spoiler?
