The all-new 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup officially debuted back in October, dropping in with some impressive off-roading chops and a high-tech powertrain. While we’ve already taken an in-depth look at the new Hummer EV pickup’s various exterior dimensions, numbers and figures don’t quite paint a complete picture – for that, you need to see the Hummer alongside some point of reference, such as in the following photo.
What we have here is a 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup crossing an intersection out in the real world, with a GMC Sierra Denali 1500 (K2 generation, 2014 to 2018 model year) in the lead. The Sierra is a Crew Cab, Short Box model, and provides a solid point of reference for getting a handle on how large the new GMC Hummer EV pickup truly is.
There are a few noteworthy things to point out here. First, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup seen here is missing a number of production body pieces, including the fender liners and lower rocker panels. Additionally, the front and rear ends include non-production spec lights, with large, black cladding rather than the clear lenses revealed with the vehicle’s debut.
Nevertheless, the image still provides a good point of comparison with regard to the actual size of the new 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup. While we’ve seen the new Hummer EV in real-world traffic before, the side-by-side image with the GMC Sierra provides a better point of reference in comparing the electric off-roader against a well-known vehicle.
As for the numbers, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup measures in with a wheelbase that’s 135.6 inches long, an overall length of 216.8 inches, an overall width of 86.7 inches (does not include sideview mirrors), a front overhang of 34.7 inches, a rear overhang of 46.5 inches, a 5-foot bed, and a maximum ground clearance of 10.1 inches in Standard Mode, 11.9 inches in Terrain Mode, and 15.9 inches in Extract Mode.
