Corvette Racing Eager For 12H Of Sebring Victory After Daytona Triumph

Corvette Racing is looking to carry its winning momentum from the 24 Hours of Daytona into this weekend’s 12 Hours of Sebring, where it will be looking for its 13th win at the notoriously bumpy South Florida circuit.
The General Motors factory team raced to a 1-2 finish in the IMSA season-opening 24 Hours of Daytona in January, putting it an early championship lead in the GTLM class. A win at Daytona usually bodes well for Corvette Racing’s prospects at Sebring, as the team’s last two Rolex 24 race victories in 2015 and 2016 led to race wins in the 12 Hours of Sebring just weeks later.
The team will also have less competition to contend with at Sebring than it did at Daytona. The season-opening Daytona race attracted an additional entry from Texas-based Ferrari team Risi Competizione, but the Prancing Horse won’t compete at Sebring. As such, this weekend’s running of the 12 Hour endurance classic will only feature the two Corvette C8.Rs, a pair of BMW M8 GTLMs and a sole Porsche 911 RSR.
While the smaller GTLM field will increase Corvette Racing’s chances at winning the race, no win at Sebring comes easy. The track, which sits on a converted airfield, is extremely bumpy and is known to punish both car and driver. The endurance event also starts during the day under the hot Florida sun and extends into the night – testing drivers’ adaptability and concentration.
Chevrolet is also hoping to capitalize on the fan attendance at Sebring with a number of fan activations. This will include the Chevrolet Motorsports Display, which will feature Chevy race cars from years past, and the Chevrolet Ride and Drive program. The Ride and Drive program will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about the latest Chevy vehicles and take them for a short test drive. Some of the Ride and Drive vehicles present will include the Chevy Tahoe, Camaro, Blazer, Colorado and Silverado.
The Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring will go green on March 20th at 10:10 a.m. EST.

Sebring is Saturday March 20th. Green flag is 10:10 eastern time.
I was just about to say this, as I know the race isn’t tomorrow. Also, starting at 8:15 AM ET would mean ending at 8:15 PM, not much night racing there.
Neither Daytona nor Sebring is South Florida. I race all the tracks in SCCA. No South Florida circuit except Homestead
