Going through a drive-thru at a fast-food restaurant is, ideally, a straightforward experience. You place your order, pay at the first window, pick up your items from the second window, and continue onward. So when a Reddit user decided to stop at a McDonald’s drive-thru for a quick coffee this week, they definitely weren’t expecting a careless Chevy Impala driver to back into their vehicle and cause significant front-end damage to it.
The Reddit user posted dashcam footage of the collision to the aptly named /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit this week with the title “I was running late and decided to stop for a quick coffee.” The 35-second clip starts as the Reddit user makes a left-hand turn into a McDonald’s parking lot. They then come upon a red Chevy Impala that is slowly pulling into a parking spot in front of the store. The driver of the Impala, seemingly undecided on whether to go into the restaurant or use the drive-thru, suddenly changes their mind and begins driving toward the drive-thru entrance.
As the Reddit user yields to the clueless Chevy Impala driver, they go ahead and change their mind once more. Out of nowhere, they throw the four-door sedan into reverse and get on the gas, reversing at a high rate of speed and backing directly into the cammer’s car with considerable force. We thought the Impala driver caused the collision on purpose upon first viewing this clip, but the Reddit user later revealed that the person was extremely apologetic over the matter and even made sure they were unhurt.
“Update to answer some of the questions,” the user said in a post left in the comment section. “The driver claimed they did not see me. It all happened so fast I did not react quick enough to honk. The driver did not try to scam me in any way and was very apologetic – admitted fault and whatnot.”
The real salt in the wound here? The user didn’t even end up getting the coffee that they initially went into the drive-thru for. Talk about a rough day.

Before the crash, you can see pre-existing damage above the passenger rear wheel and rear quarter area. Seems this was not the first accident like this.
Might’ve actually improved the looks of it.
“Oh wait, this isn’t Starbucks!”
I think you 2 had issues before hand, looks like rode rage to me
