2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup VIN 001: Live Photo Gallery

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup made its grand debut last October as an all-new, battery-powered super truck. Now, we got up close and personal with the very-first Hummer EV pickup produced, VIN 001, at the ongoing Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, capturing it in the following Live Photo Gallery just prior to its stint on the block.

Like the rest of the initial production run, the GMC Hummer EV pickup VIN 001 is an Edition 1 model, which means it’s the range-topping, limited edition model. It comes with a few unique bits and pieces to help it stand out from the rest of the lineup, including exclusive interior badging, the inclusion of the Extreme Off Road Package and Transparent Sky Panels as standard. Other trims offer these two latter items as optional extras.

What’s more, every Hummer EV Edition 1 is covered in the white paint seen here on this Hummer EV pickup VIN 001. Up front, we find the new signature grille-turned-light bar stretched across the nose, which includes a prominently-backlit Hummer script on the six inner slats, plus H-shaped lighting graphics bookending the inner lighting elements. The lower fascia is finished in silver with two tow black hooks, plus fog lamps in the corners of the black bumper.

The profile reveals the GMC Hummer EV pickup features an imposing stance and running gear, the former of which is adjustable thanks to Air Ride Suspension components that can raise the Hummer EV’s ride height by nearly two inches. The wheels are made from aluminum, and come with a multi-spoke design that recalls earlier Hummer models, while adding a dash of modernity to the mix. These units have a bronze beauty ring that is exclusive to the Edition 1 model. Wrapping the alloys is a set of 35-inch-OD Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.

In back, the Hummer EV pickup sports tail lights that mimic the lighting signatures up front, while the GMC MultiPro tailgate adds further functionality with six different configurable positions. Also notice the branded bed treatment with the Hummer EV logo etched into the center of the bed liner. The front of the box features three cutouts for motorcycle or bike tires.

Like all Edition 1 models, GMC Hummer EV pickup VIN 001 is equipped with a three-motor powertrain, which throws down with 1,000 horsepower – enough to send the super truck from a standstill to 60 mph in a mere three seconds. DC fast charging adds about 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. A full charge nets 350 miles or range.

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup Edition 1 is priced at $112,595, with the first customer-bound units arriving in the Fall. This particular model, VIN 001, is expected to fetch quite a bit more at auction.

  4. GM has blown away the competition with this truck. The others are so ugly and the Hummer is a home run!!!. Electric or gas this would have moved the needle.

  5. Looks to be an amazing vehicle, that will create a veritable “Shark Eating Frenzy” in the dealers showrooms and throughout the Social Media as this GM vehicle makes it way through the multitudes of “copy cats” that’ll surely find their way after this vehicle hits the roads…and “off roads” of America!
However, we all know what happens when a “home run” is hit in America, right? Perfect example is the new C8 Corvette, a “home run” if there ever was one, and what happened….a multitude of things that has literally made the dealers smile with thoughts of “banging every customer possible and reliving them of every dollar they can from their pockets”, and of course those with the “extra cash” available and a dealer that’ll deliver their inventory of C8’s as ordered have been the recipient of one of these amazing GM Super Cars, some customers even getting their ordered C8’s, at an “adjusted price” of course.
So we can just imagine what the Hummer Dealers will be “Charging” (no pun intended) for this new vehicle, it’ll also be as amazing an increase in cost as the vehicle slowly finds it’s way to those “well healed customers” with deep pockets.
Oh well, more power to those who will actually take delivery first and be able to “show it off” at Cars & Coffee Events all across the country, I’ll be very envious of course, as I know I’ll have to wait, and wait for my order to be processed and then…come up with the added “Fair Market Value” adenium cost that my local dealers here in SoCal will more than likely attach to the already inflated MSRP attached to each new Hummer.
Sometimes, it’s a “Rich Persons” game, alright….and for those of us who’ll scrimp and save for this vehicle, we’ll just have to wait our turn in line, and I’m sure when the day actually comes for us “mere mortals” to take delivery, we’ll probably want to show this “Beast” off, but the excitement will have faded a bit by then, but we’ll actually be able to drive what will surely be another “Home Run” for General Motors. Keep up the good work…so how about letting this sort of advanced type of vehicle (like the C8 and new Hummer) ideas and concepts reach every GM vehicle in the coming years, it couldn’t hurt!

  8. For mere $2,387,405 makeup Barrett-Jackson sold 001 what a deal. I’d settle for 002. Probably the fast Crab on the 1320. Just saying.

  9. I see they are advertising the Hummer SUV. Is that on the near horizon? I prefer the SUV over pickup. Willing to give up crab walk for a SUV. The costs are going insane. May make a reservation but whether I can pull the trigger and spend $100,000 is something that I need to think about long and hard.
