2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing VIN 001 Sold At Barrett-Jackson Auction

Rights to the very first retail production 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing produced, VIN 001, recently sold at auction during the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale March 2021 event. The final winning bid was for $165,000, with 100 percent of the hammer price going to benefit Black Ambition, a non-profit initiative providing support to Black and Latinx entrepreneurs seeking to launch a start-up business in tech, design, healthcare, and consumer products/services.

Rights to the first CT4-V Blackwing VIN 001 were offered at no reserve as Lot 3001. On a related note, rights to the first retail production 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing also sold at the Barrett-Jackson event, with the final winning bid set at $265,000.

General Motors unveiled the new 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing alongside the CT5-V Blackwing in a joint debut on February 1st, 2021. The new Blackwing sedans expand the CT4 and CT5 lineup with even greater performance potential, matching traditional Cadillac luxury with a host of track-ready equipment.

For the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, this includes the twin-turbo 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, the same engine found in the Cadillac ATS-V. Output in the CT4-V Blackwing is rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, all of which is harnessed by a standard Tremec six-speed manual transmission, making the CT4-V Blackwing unique in its segment and likely one of the last manual-equipped models General Motors ever produces.

A 10-speed automatic is optional, with power routed exclusively to the rear wheels. Acceleration to 60 mph takes 3.8 seconds, while the top speed is 189 mph.

In addition to impressive performance under the hood, the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing also features meaty Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber, Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 suspension, and upgraded Brembo brakes. Outside, the CT4-V Blackwing signals its sporting intentions with upgraded aero components, while the interior is adorned in carbon fiber trim and 18-way adjustable seating.

Pricing starts at at $59,990, with deliveries expected to get underway in the Summer.
