The 2022 Buick Envision represents the second model year of the second-generation model, for which the crossover receives several minor changes and updates.
Here’s exactly what’s new and different for the 2022 Buick Envision.
Exterior
On the outside, the 2022 model sees the addition of one exterior color: Sapphire Metallic, as well as the deletion of a single exterior hue: Dark Moon Blue Metallic. The 2022 Envision Preferred model also sees a change in standard wheel availability, with the deletion of the Bright Silver 18-inch aluminum wheels (RER), and the addition of new 18-inch aluminum wheels (PZK).
Interior
On the inside, the air ionizer feature has been deleted. Otherwise, the 2022 Buick Envision sees the addition of new content for the Envision ST as the addition of the following dealer-installed (LPO-level) items:
- All-weather floor liners
- All-weather floor mats
- Cargo liner
Packages
The Buick Interior Protection Package has been added to the 2022 Buick Envision, and includes all-weather floor mats and all-weather floor liners.
Additionally, the existing Sport Touring Package receives new content in addition to the items included for the 2021 model year:
New-for-2022 Sport Touring (ST) package content:
- Sport pedals
- Red-stitched leather seating
- ST logo on the headrest
- ST logo on floor mats
Existing Sport Touring (ST) package content:
- 20-inch wheels with Dark finish
- Unique ST exterior badging
- Grille surround and mesh inserts
- Black roof rails
- Body-color door handles
- Lower trim/wheel arch moldings
- Exhaust bezels
- Dark Gloss finish window trim and mirror caps
- Rear cargo compartment cover
Mechanical
The 2022 Buick Envision continues to be powered by the same engine as the 2021 model: the turbocharged 2.0L LSY I4, which produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The single powerplant is mated to GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission driving either the front (standard) or all wheels (optional).
2022 Buick Envision Availability
The 2022 Buick Envision is assembled by GM China (SAIC) at the Jinqiao plant in Shanghai, China. The 2022 model is expected to enter production in mid-2021.
With the 2021 model year marking the debut of the second-generation Buick Envision, we expect the second-generation Buick Envision to remain in production through at least the 2026 model year.

It’s a beautiful vehicle but why is GM killing the cabin ionizer?
Agree with you! This may be the best looking vehicle in GM’s portfolio.
Yea, they killed it in the Enclave also. Why would you do this in a supposedly luxury vehicle? Otherwise, this is a great alternative to the XT4.
^ No doubt as a cost saving. Other examples of cost cutting on the existing ’21 Envision are:
– Absence of integrated turn signal indicators on the outside mirrors.
– Absence of auto-folding outside mirrors.
– Elimination of rain-sensing wipers (aka ‘Rainsense’ wipers) on the upper tier trim lines.
Bean counters and others at GM think potential customers don’t notice these missing features, but they’re wrong.
That’s just wrong, pretty sure Buick was the first GM brand to have these? Or maybe it was the heated washer fluid. Come on GM…
I’m leaving for a Ford .
Buick has out done Cadillac in all the CUV styling.
As for ionizer I would say there were few lost sales due to this being discontinued.
As for mirror turn signals. They look better with out. Auto gold is really more gimick than needed part.
Rain sensing wipers are a pain when they come on and just smear the bugs.
Give me real options like HUD and things that really matter.
If you have allergies this was a great feature, disappointed to see of this stuff go. Why so these have to be made overseas when people are seeking work here. Makes be wonder if I really want one. Have been a purchaser for over 40 years.
Still made in Mexico.
I will buy made in USA
^ The Envision is built in China, not Mexico… which is even worse of course.
Nice looking never see any of them on the road did see a 2019? (Opel)Regal sport wagon that is the one id buy but gm sold Opel (Germany) and vaxhaul (England)And shut down Holden (Australia)
Made in China, so disappointing!
Why wouldn’t you make a tricoat white metallic? So disappointed!
Can the 2022 Buick Envision Avenir be flat towed behind a motor home?
Wow so the de-contenting continues alive and well at GM. No visible exhaust. No fog lamps. No auto power folding mirrors or turn signal indicators. No rain sensing wipers. No in vehicle air ioniser. An interior that would and should be in a Equinox or Terrain and only 228 HP out of a 2.0 liter turbo where most others are getting 250-275 horses. I’m just not impressed
You left out “Made In China” No sale for me.
Made in China. It’s a non starter for the majority who have an ounce of integrity & are up to speed on what the Communist Party is doing to their own AND the world. Make it ANYWHERE else!!! Get some PRINCIPLES Queen of hypocrisy MaryB & your Court.
As long as it’s made in China, it’ll never be in my garage. Sad GM can’t build more stuff in the USA. I understand the Chinese love Buick, but enough is enough. GM would sell more of them if they’d build them here.
You will lose many customers including me if you cut the items we like. So if you do it good bye as Zi look at Fords and Chevy’s new lines.
Why would the Envision not have the option of a Brown Interior like the Enclave. Only black and white? Black shows dirt and can get very hot in hot weather. White, gets very dirty easily. Brown is also much more luxurious looking.
Just got one of these. It’s a home run. The new 2.0L Turbo is down on power but it’s silky smooth, super responsive, and powerful enough for this kind of vehicle.
GM outdid themselves on the interior, but the bean counters had a minor victory in making the cargo shade an accessory item. Barra needs her own personal hit man to strategically whack bean counters that step out of line.
Yes it’s made in China but so is everything else. I test drove a Terrain which is the GMC version of this platform made in USA and it has a typical GM interior and lots of uncontrolled NVH. I also drove an XT4 but it doesn’t offer much of anything for the extra money. Honestly I’m not sure why anyone would by a Cadillac CUV since they are just FWD platforms without extra power or improved handling. Kind of insulting that GM thinks they are worth so much.
Everyone complaining about made in China is probably from a IPhone that’s….made in China. smh
I recently discovered that the 22″ tires Buick is putting on the 2022 Envision have been discontinued. I had to purchase 4 new tires, The tires on the Envision I had only have a couple of thousand miles, but cannot mix and match. NOT HAPPY!! No help from the Buick dealer either so purchased at Firestone where I can get a guarantee. I am very disappointed in this Buick and will be returning to Ford for my next purchase.
