The 2021 Chevy Colorado Z71 is now available to order in the new Sand Dune Metallic exterior color.
Sand Dune Metallic was added to the Chevy Colorado‘s color palette for the 2021 model year. The beige exterior color is a no-cost paint option on the mid-size pickup and is only available on the Colorado Z71 and Colorado ZR2 trim levels.
As we reported previously, there was some confusion and contradicting information regarding the availability of Sand Dune Metallic on the Colorado. GM’s initial press release for the 2021 Colorado indicated the new exterior hue would be offered on both the Z71 and ZR2 trim levels. However, the automaker then began to kick back dealer orders for Z71 models finished in Sand Dune Metallic, with a spokesperson later confirming to GM Authority that the new hue would only be available on the 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2. The situation changed yet again in December of last year, when sources close to the matter informed GM Authority that The General had changed its mind, deciding to use the color on both Z71 and ZR2 models.
In addition to Sand Dune Metallic, the 2021 Chevy Colorado is also available to order in Satin Steel Metallic, Black, Bright Blue Metallic, Crush, Cherry Red Tintcoat, Red Hot, and Summit White.
The mid-size truck received a number of small changes for the 2021 model year, including a restyled front fascia and a new tailgate.
Pricing for the 2021 Chevy Colorado starts at $26,395 for a WT trim level with rear-wheel-drive and the 2.5L LCV I-4 engine rated at 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. The Z71 trim level, which is the least expensive trim available in Sand Dune Metallic, starts at $36,695 including destination. It comes with the 3.6L LGZ V-6 engine, rated at 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. The 2021 Colorado ZR2 starts at $44,395 with the LGX V6 or $47,895 with the 2.8L I-4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax rated at 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
