The 2021 Buick Enclave marks the fourth model year of the second-generation Enclave, for which the crossover receives a few minor changes and updates.
Notably, the 2020 Buick Enclave already received various small updates. The model was set to receive a midcycle update for the 2021 model year, but that was pushed back to the 2022 model year due to complications associated with COVID-19.
2021 Buick Enclave Exterior
The 2021 Buick Enclave sees the deletion of two exterior color options: Champagne Gold Metallic and Dark Moon Blue Metallic.
2021 Buick Enclave Interior
On the inside, the Enclave sees the deletion of the air ionizer feature and the universal tablet holder. Meanwhile, new puddle lamps become available and are included in the Accent Lighting Package, which also equips the crossover with illuminated front door sill plates.
Additionally, the power-sliding moonroof option now requires the Sound and Sites Package on Essence models.
Mechanical Changes
We previously covered the revised availability for the electronic positraction axle option, which was initially expanded to include Essence all-wheel-drive models in addition to Premium and Avenir all-wheel-drive models, however the rear-locking axle option has since been deleted altogether. This leaves a single all-wheel-system available for the Enclave, which features a Driver Select function, allowing drivers to switch between all-wheel and front-wheel-drive.
Package Changes
Aside from the addition of the aforementioned Accent Lighting Package, the 2021 Buick Enclave also sees the Driver Confidence Package renamed to Safety Package.
Additionally, either the Sun and Sight Package or the Surround and Sites Package is now required on Premium models to equip the vehicle with 20-inch polished aluminum wheels or the Buick Infotainment System with Navigation.
Additionally, the Driver Confidence II Package is renamed to the Buick Driver Confidence Plus package, and includes the following safety features:
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
- Following Distance Indicator
- Forward Collision Alert
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Headlamp control, IntelliBeam auto high beam
- Front and Rear Park Assist
- Automatic Emergency Braking
2021 Buick Enclave Availability
The 2021 Buick Enclave is assembled by GM USA at the GM Lansing Delta Township factory in Michigan. The plant has been making 2021 models since the end of the 2020 calendar year.
Looking ahead, we expect that the current, second-generation Buick Enclave will remain in production until the 2023-2024 model years. A thorough refresh will take place for the 2022 model year.
Interestingly, the Envision is unaffected. Small pieces might be coming out through the drain plug. Enclave News

I had forgotten how good that refresh looks.
Still one of Consumer Reports best ranked luxury 3-row crossovers today.
Have changed bumper 2 bumper from 4/50 to 3/36, guess no confidence in quality control. No more fog lights & adaptived headlights, no more clock or locks on glove compt. No more MPH indicator on GPS or instrument panel, but have nu colors.
