Sylvester Stallone Bought Himself A 2021 Corvette Convertible

Last year, we reported that KISS singer Paul Stanley had purchased a 2020 Corvette Stingray for himself. It seems the rockstar isn’t the only celebrity that has taken to the mid-engine Corvette, though, as Rocky Balboa himself, Sylvester Stallone, has now acquired a 2021 Corvette Convertible.

A dealership in Tennessee, Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of Murfreesboro, posted a photo gallery on their Facebook page last week showing Stallone taking delivery of his new 2021 Corvette Convertible, which was accompanied by the following caption:

“We are extremely proud and honored (and a little star-struck) to be able to say Sylvester Stallone is now one of our customers. We sold him this beautiful 2021 C8 Corvette! Here, Owner Bo Trivett and wife Jennifer are delivering him this beautiful car! Thanks for your business, Sly!”

Stallone’s 2021 Corvette Convertible appears to be a Rapid Blue model with a matching Tension Blue/Twilight interior and the available five-trident spoke alloy wheels. Somewhat surprisingly, it seems as though Stallone didn’t opt for the Z51 Performance Package, as his car does not have the Z51 front splitter equipped.

We’re sure Stallone will be more than happy with the performance of his Corvette Convertible, Z51 package or not. The mid-engine sports car’s naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine produces 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque from the factory, which is paired with a standard eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel-drive.

Stallone appears to have a penchant for General Motors vehicles. Last year, the actor placed his custom Cadillac Escalade stretch limo up for sale, which he originally paid $409,000 for. He’s also been spotted behind the wheel of a Hendrick 25th Anniversary Chevy Camaro in the past and previously owned a C3 Corvette, as well.

  1. GM should use Sly and other real-life hardcore GM fan celebs in its commercials instead of cold, pretended ones. Off the top of my head Tom Brady and Ben Affleck also well known with their various GM vehicles.

  2. It looks as if the Corvette isn’t the only thing he’s about to take a ride on.

  3. So “Rocky Balboa” is picking himself up a new C8 Corvette, Bravo Rocky! By the way, fret not about not having the Z51 option on your “Rapid Blue” Stingray, trust me, you’ll not miss it as the “Base C8” is a landbound Cruise Missile with or without the Z51 package. I sincerely doubt that Mr. Stallone is going to go race tracking in his new ‘Vette as are most folks that purchase a new C8…let’s get real, who pays the price of new C8 and seriously plans on “beating the dog snot” out of it!
Okay, yeah, there are those out there with “more money than god” who want to take their new C8 Z51 out to a race track and drive the wheels off it…and to them I say “good for you”, you’ll get your monies worth, but that’s not the 99 percent of us who own a Corvette and simply appreciate the car for what it is and yes, it’s fun to “get on it” and enjoy everything that these amazing machines can offer…but, once you’ve put your new C8 on a real race track, you’ll be setting yourself up for two things (and I speak from experience) “a great fun time and…you’ll probably beat your car up, going through brakes and tires plus the chance of damaging the paint and god only knows what else you’ll manage to damage on the race track”!
Worse part is too, if you are out there with other drivers, chances are someone will “screw up” and if it isn’t you, then a fellow “Sunday Racer Joe” will take you out or cause you to damage your Corvette…and if you’ve got “bags of money” just waiting to be opened up and spent, then by all means go for it! Horse Racing isn’t the only “Sport of Kings”, ‘ya know!
Sadly, I’ve experienced this more than once…having fun until the unthinkable happens, then it hits you “damn, I can’t believe that happened to me”! Oh well, I hope “Rocky” enjoys his new C8…they truly are amazing driving machines, but best enjoyed “without being damaged”, and what he’s now purchased is perhaps one of the best bargains of all time, and he can be assured of being one happy new Corvette owner and with his name on the “Pink Slip”…he’s going to increase the already amazingly popular desirability of that particular Corvette…celebrity owned vehicles are usually highly sought after whenever they’re put up for sale, at least in good old SoCal. and probably everywhere else in the world too!
Give me a new C8 Convertible anytime…keep the highly sought after Z51 option for the “Racer Joe’s” out there, if you’ve driven both cars with and without the Z51 option, “on the street” (and even headed out a drag strip fun day) I defy you to actually be able to differentiate the differences between both cars in everyday driving…they are both truly amazing driving machines! If you are planning to simply cruise and enjoy one of the worlds best “GT” Sports Cars, save the over 5 grand Z51 option cost, and place that money on other options or added specialty items like custom wheels or exhaust, ect.
Believe me the two cars are within a few tenths of a second “at the strip” and the “street”…but if you absolutely have to have the Z51 option, then by all means go for it, just don’t expect too big a difference in performance unless you get out there and go looking for that “100%” of what this amazing car is capable of delivering, but if you do that, bring your check book or a lot of cash with you, chances are at some point in time, you’re going to need it for replacement parts! Enjoy.
