Photo Compares Size Of GMC Hummer EV Pickup To GMC Acadia Crossover

We’ve gotten our hands on a photo of the 2020 GMC Acadia midsize crossover driving past the upcoming 2022 GMC Hummer EV, providing further indication of the scale of the upcoming all-electric pickup truck.

The two GMC products are almost exactly the same distance from the camera, but the Acadia has a slight advantage. And though the Acadia is by no means a small vehicle, it is clearly considerably smaller than the Hummer EV.

GMC Acadia GMC Hummer EV Pickup
Length (in.) 193.4 216.8
Wheelbase (in.) 112.5 135.6
Width without mirrors (in.) 75.4 86.7
Track (in.) 64.5 73.3
Height 66.7 TBD

Exactly how much smaller is apparent from the table above. At 216.8 inches, the Hummer EV pickup is 23.4 inches – or very nearly two feet – longer than the Acadia, and has a greater wheelbase by almost exactly the same amount: 23.1 inches. Not including mirrors, it is also 11.3 inches wider, with a track that’s 8.8 inches wider.

The height of the Hummer EV pickup has not yet been disclosed, and would in any case vary by about six inches according to whether the vehicle was in the Standard Mode, Terrain Mode or Extract Mode settings of its Air Ride Adaptive suspension. However, our image shows that it is clearly taller than the Acadia, which measures 66.7 inches in height.

Another photo, published previously here on GM Authority, suggests that the Hummer EV pickup is approximately the same height as the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe full-size SUV, which is 75.9 inches tall on its regular suspension setting.

The mystery of the Hummer EV’s height will soon be solved. The Edition 1 version, with three electric motors producing 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of wheel torque, will go on sale in the fall of this year, priced at $112,595. It will be followed in the fall of 2022 by the $99,995 EV3X, which will have three motors producing 800 horsepower and 9,500 pound-feet of wheel torque as standard, but will have the option of the same powertrain as the Edition 1.

The EV2X will arrive in the spring of 2023, priced to start at $89,995 and powered by two motors producing 625 horsepower and 7,400 pound-feet of wheel torque. Finally, the $79,995 EV2 will go on sale in the spring of 2024, boasting the same power and torque as the EV2X but with an estimated range of 250-plus rather than 300-plus miles.

The GMC Hummer EV pickup will also gain an SUV variant, likely with identical technical specifications and a similar pricing structure. That model is expected to be announced very soon.
