LeBron James Meets The GMC Hummer EV In New Ad: Video

General Motors teamed up with LeBron James to promote the launch of the new GMC Hummer EV. The automaker tapped James to appear in its “Quiet Revolution” Super Bowl ad for the Hummer EV in January and the basketball legend has also appeared in other social media-based promotions for the electric truck throughout January and February.

The most recent marketing material for the GMC Hummer EV featuring LeBron James is a YouTube video showing the 36-year-old Ohio native getting up close and personal with the truck and checking out its various technology and features. James is no stranger to the Hummer brand, having previously owned a Hummer H2, and is excited at the prospect of getting behind the wheel of a battery-powered Hummer offering.

“You know GMC should be extremely proud of themselves of the build of this..this beast,” James says of the new Hummer EV in the video. “The details inside and the exterior is second to none. Obviously, you know they spent a lot of hours on making sure the quality and detailing of this vehicle is amazing. And for it to be all-electric, for it to still have that power and that presence of a Hummer, don’t be surprised when see me rolling down the street in this.”

“So futuristic but so bold at the same time,” the basketball star adds. “It’s like sleek and bold. Love it.”

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV rides on GM’s new EV-dedicated BT1 platform, and utilizes the automaker’s Ultium lithium-ion battery technology and Ultium Drive motor technology. The Hummer EV pickup is offered with a variety of different powertrain setups, but the range-topping Edition 1 model featured in this video is the most powerful. All Edition 1s will come standard with a tri-motor powertrain producing 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of wheel torque, which sends the off-roader to 60 mph in just three seconds.

    2. Eddie, I can’t stand LeBron either. But to say you’d actually pass up on this insane beast of a truck for something as stupid as who pitches it for GMC…that’s absolutely asinine.

    2. Was not free as he had serious issues over the money advanced to him as an amateur

You know he used to own the Akron area but he got old really fast. We got tired of the games he played here and the way he manipulated the Cavs and then left them.

He though winning a championship here would make him a hero to the area but it was short lived.

He has done some good thing for the area but too often at the expense of baggage making you wonder if it is worth it.

Right now he could do much to talk to the youth of Akron and stop all the shootings. If not he may want his Hummer with Kevlar.

    1. I support all cops who fire on criminals when it’s justified, whether the cops are black or white, or the criminals are black or white. Cops don’t get anywhere near the respect they deserve, which is the root of so many problems in America. If some white dude is waving around a knife and gets shot when the black cops order him to drop it and he doesn’t comply, I totally and completely support that black cop.

Stop making everything a race issue. I agree that it’s stupid to hate on or not buy the Hummer simply because LeBron endorsed it, but making it a race issue is just as stupid. I have 101 REAL reasons not to like LeBron, but him pitching the Hummer does nothing to decrease how much I love this new truck.
