Custom builders looking to add performance and styling punch to their Big Block Chevy engine can turn to Holley for the Hilborn EFI-R Individual Runner Manifolds kit.
“Based on the original Hilborn patents, Holley has reintroduced the look and performance of Hilborn’s mechanical fuel injection with all the benefits of modern EFI,” says Jeremy Stoermer in the following feature video.
The new Hilborn EFI-R Individual Runner Manifolds add a dramatic under-hood look to Chevy Big Block engines, while also sharpening throttle response, beefing up low-end torque, adding top-end power, and improving acceleration.
The runner design works to eliminate reversion pulses that result from cam overlap, increasing intake velocity and maximizing the fuel burn rate. What’s more, the design helps to provide smoother low-speed drivability, making even choppy cams more user friendly.
Holley recommends pairing the Hilborn EFI-Runner with the tuner’s engine and fuel management system, such as the Holley Dominator or Terminator series of components.
The new injection system is offered in a ceramic gray finish, and comes with hard-anodized fuel rails already mounted. The system is also offered with three butterfly sizes, including 2-7/16 inch, 2-5/8 inch, or 3 inch.
The system is designed to work with rectangle port Big Block Chevy heads, but can be adapted to fit oval port heads by using the right gasket. The three-piece design requires the inclusion of a valley cover kit specific to your application. Fuel injectors are not included, but each kit does come with a vacuum kit for the MAF sensor, as well as a remote thermostat housing, and a few other components to help with tuning.
The intake ram tubes are also sold separately, and are offered in three different sizes – 6 inches, 8 inches, or 12 inches. Pricing for each Hilborn Big Block Chevy Intake Manifold kit is set at $2,999.95, per the Holley website. The Valley Cover Kit is $299.95, while the Ram Tubes start at $359.95.
