Here’s How Much A Fully Configured Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, CT5-V Blackwing Will Cost

Pricing for the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing starts at $59,990, while the bigger, more powerful CT5-V Blackwing starts at $84,990. Both of the high-performance sedans are available with a range of options, though, which can drive the sticker price up dramatically.

In conjunction with our sister publication, Cadillac Society, GM Authority has just learned that, fully configured, the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing will cost $84,875, while a fully loaded 2022 CT5-V Blackwing will cost $121,895. Some of the optional equipment on both of these models includes a GM 10-speed automatic transmission and the carbon fiber aero package, while the CT5-V also offers a carbon ceramic brake package.

A fully loaded example of the standard, non-Blackwing CT4-V will run buyers $61,425, while the most expensive possible non-Blackwing CT5-V model costs $70,635. For reference, a base model CT4 starts at $33,395, while a base model CT5 starts at $36,995.

As a reminder, the CT4-V Blackwing is powered by GM’s twin-turbo 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, which produces 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. The CT5-V, meanwhile, uses the automaker’s supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, which is good for 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Both come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and are available with rear-wheel-drive only. A ten-speed automatic transmission is optional on both models.

The first batch of 250 of each V-Series Blackwing model have been spoken for after Cadillac began accepting $1000 deposits for the vehicles on February 1st. It will still take orders for both vehicles once full series production begins later this year, but customers that managed to get their hands on the first 250 examples will receive their vehicles first. These reservation holders will also get a free session at the Cadillac V-Performance Academy at the Spring Mountain Resort racetrack in Nevada, along with a special serial number plate and certificate of authenticity.

Customer deliveries of the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will begin this summer.

  2. I recall reading a comment on one of the other articles here about why the CT5 blackwing V is so much more than the CT4. I’m also curious about that. Yes, it’s a bigger car and yes it has the monster V8 instead of a monster V6. But that’s a lot of change for those things. Either way, when you look at what you get and the performance, they are still a much better value than the BMW or MB versions.

    1. Which model lineups are you referring to from BMW and MB? 5 and E or 3 and C? I’ll be nit-picky and indicate that in comparison to the CTS-V, there’s some cheapening of interior bits in the CT5-V BW.

Otherwise while I’ve been quite a harsh critic of Cadillac’s execution of its products, these hi-po versions are compelling and interesting. Side note: The blackout trim softens the bias to the general exterior design flubs of the CT5 (that damn C-C-C- Pil-Pill-), ok I restrained myself. LOL!

If the weight of this RWD only vehicle (CT5-V BW) enables it to be competitive with the updated AWD competition from BMW, MB and Audi, then I can embrace it. Looking forward to performance comparisons.

    2. It doesn’t matter, certain crowd still gonna manage to find a way to keep “beaching” going ;”nice car but not for the asking price” . But notice they never tell how much actually they’re willing to pay. Because they know it will sound quite ridicules. Despite they very well know these cars considerably under cut the competition. For instance BMW M5 CS STARTS! at mere $143K which is best it can give is still more than sixty horsepower less than CT5. Plus even hardcore bmw fanboys admit that GM’s rear wheel drive front engine platforms better than bmw.

It’s a well known fact that American cars are better value options out there. Of course if you’re a hipster who goes after trendy brands and not the value Europeans will seem the only direction for you. That’s why in hipster capitols NYC & LA you see nothing but egg shaped feminine german crossovers.

I don’t quite sure what psychological agent stirs up the despise against domestic cars, maybe they see them as one of us ,and familiarity prompt to associate them with mundaneness. Like you never impress with your sibling’s achievements no matter what they do, you take it for granted. On the other hand you admire others for less because you don’t know their ordinary daily lives and didn’t witness their uncool moments, and grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Maybe that’s why European brand cars always feel exotic and fancy to those people as totally independent from the reality ,and the asking price never be an issue.

  3. Hard to believe they come with a 6 speed manual. Disappearing from everything else from gm. Can’t understand the logic. Even the Vette has paddle shifters.

  4. A Cadillac with standard manual trans, that just doesn’t sound right. Luxury cars are normally not manual trans, I know a lot of people want manual but look across the luxury spectrum and you can count the top-line cars with manuals on one hand. But in the end, giving a buyer the choice is always better.

  5. For that price, the transmission on the CT5-V should be a paddle-shift, dual-clutch (DCT).

    1. Ok, this is getting ridiculous! For years you people screamed “we want manual”, now after GM listen, you’re pohpoohing it, really?

Alright, what’s the new excuse? “Oh we uttered manual but actually we meant dual-clutch, and paddle-shifters not the stick”
Really? The dual-clutch is some rendition of automatic, and nobody considers paddle shifters as real manual action, they’re artificial ,and don’t have a direct connection to clutch. C8 has them but it didn’t stop people to cry river for manual. And i don’t remember you or anybody else praising C8 for paddles shifters, and considering it as manual.

There’s reason other car makers don’t offer manuals. Because designing the car for two different transmission complicate the design and processes, increases the total number of parts needed and all those mean extra cost. So the cost increase is not directly associated to manual transmission itself but actually comes from the increase in broad production cost of the project.

Also this is not the manual transmission you find in any other GM, it’s made by Tremec . It’s the company makes performance transmissions for hypercars. It’s specifically tuned for the car and the engine to extract best performance. So when GM say 24 hours non-stop track performance they really mean it. By the way why you guys never ask bmw or other germans more horsepower to cope with CT5 or ZL1 and and why don’t you asking for something equivalent to magnetic ride or performance data recorder, FOR THAT PRICE!

      1. agree, i would opt for Auto, but offering a manual (standard actual extra for auto) is a plus for marketing. not sure about magnetic shocks, thoes went bad on my wife’s ATS, very expensive to fix and no real advantage for normal driving. My Vette has them and I worry they will also fail.

      2. Whoa Slider! Cool your jets!

Don’t include me in the group which screamed, “We want manual”! What I said was that at the $120k+ price point the CT5-5 should be equipped with Tremec dual-clutch transmission which functions the same the C8 Corvette transmission, with paddle shifting, providing nearly instantaneous gear changes, contrary to the older technology of the fully automatic eight-speed which utilizes a torque convertor, as does the C7 Corvette, which does NOT shift instantaneously. Fast, yes, but not instant shifting. (I know that to be a fact, Slider, as I have a 2018, Z06/Z07 Corvette and I experience delays in shifting nearly every time I drive the car. Pulling the paddles in rapid succession does NOT result in gear changes at the same rate, up or downshifting. Shifting up to 2nd at 6,200 RPM, 300 RPM below the red line, most often ends up in hitting the rev-limiter. That is precisely why the C8 went to the advance technology of the dual-clutch (DCT) transmission.

So, as I stated in my comment, the $120k+ price point of the new CT5-V Cadillac, this car should be equipped with the NEWER technology of the DCT gearbox.

An apology from you would be nice.

  6. Compare these to the MB AMG C43 and MB AMG C63 – are the CT4 and CT5 Blackwings worth more than these?

    1. i have a 2017 GS Collectors edition, came with Spring Mountain and i missed going. 🙁 . My wife put a reservation on a CT4 VBW, to replace her ATS, and is in the first 250. if she actually goes through and buys I’ll go to Spring Mountain with her. Nobody would go with me with my Vette.

    2. I paased my weekend there to a friend when i got my ct6 blackwing. I want to drive my car, not others. Vegas is cool though. Cant call it a v, cause the should have 6.2 s/c, like the cts v, and my zl1!

  8. That’s a huge spread between $85K and $122K. For a car that’s supposedly well equipped to start (you would hope), I’d love to see what’s on the option list.

  9. Hellcats are cheaper than this

    Reply
    1. For V8 sedans, the Hellcats (or lesser ScatPack cars) simply have no competition at their price point.

It appears the CT5 Blackwing is chasing loftier targets. Aiming at the E63S, M5, Tesla Model S Plaid, Audi RS7 — a pretty sophisticated crowd. Although I like the Caddy, it has its work cut out.

  10. I like both of these cars but 125K for a CT5 V- Blackwing is the most insane thing I have ever heard of.
I will take the Tesla Model S Plaid+ I know they are completely different Cars but just wanted to point out how insane that price is.
I mean a BMW M5 starts at 100K (let that sink in for a minute)
GM must only think they will sell very few of them.
