GM Issues TSB For Cadillac CT6 To Fix Fuse Box Problem

General Motors has issued a technical service bulletin on a very small number of Cadillac CT6 luxury sedans to address a minor problem with the vehicle’s fuse box.

The problem: this technical service bulletin actually addresses two separate potential problems with the fuse box in the Cadillac CT6. The first problem relates to vehicles that were retrofitted with an incorrect left hand under hood electrical center cover. The second problem looks to address a problem with vehicles that received a replacement left hand under hood electrical center with the incorrect fuse.

The fix: dealers are instructed to replace the electrical center cover on vehicles affected by the first problem and to replace the fuse on vehicles affected by the second problem.

The hazards: while this is not a major issue and does not pose any immediate safety risks to the driver or vehicle occupants, it is ideal for any vehicle to have the correct fuses and fuse box cover installed.

Affected vehicles:

  • 2019 Cadillac CT6
  • 2020 Cadillac CT6

Number of affected vehicles: only two vehicles are affected by the fuse box cover problem, while another two vehicles receive the incorrect fuse. The service update does indicate whether these are the same two vehicles, or if there are four in total.

Affected components:

  • Fuse box cover
  • Position F-14 fuse

Next steps: Cadillac dealers will check all Cadillac CT6 vehicles in their inventories as well as customer vehicles that may return to the dealership for any reason. The bulletin will expire at the end of the involved vehicle’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty period.
