The automaker’s first TikTok post is a short music video featuring hip hop artist Breland. The video is set to the platinum-selling artist’s hit song “My Truck,” however this version of the track features revamped song lyrics “highlighting the Chevy Trucks lineup and dynamic visuals that feature Silverado in a starring role,” GM says.
The video features appearances from the Chevy Silverado LT Trail Boss, Silverado LT Trail Boss Midnight Edition and Silverado Custom, effectively showcasing the range of Silverado models and trims that are currently available.
Chevy says it is currently one of the few automotive brands with an official TikTok channel and it’s hoping that having a presence on the growing social media platform will help it reach a younger audience and/or new type of truck buyer.
“Chevy is a brand that loves celebrating trucks and the people who own them,” Steve Majoros, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing, said in a statement. “Breland’s song, ‘My Truck’ is so exciting because it is a great representation of why truck customers love their vehicles – they offer a source of adventure, fun and capability. The reboot of ‘My Truck’ will definitely be a new anthem for Chevy Truck customers.”
The automaker hasn’t said what may in store for the future of its TikTok page, but with exciting vehicles like the C8 Corvette and Chevy Camaro in its portfolio, there’s no limit to the kinds of content the automaker may publish on the music and dance-focused social media network.
