Earlier this week, GM Authority reported that specialized media in Mexico got to preview the all-new 2021 Buick Envision ahead of its official debut. Now, the automaker has just announced the arrival of the second-generation Buick Envision to the Mexican market this month, completing the crossover’s launch in the three North American countries.
The all-new 2021 Buick Envision comes to reinforce Buick’s utility vehicle portfolio, reinvigorating the brand’s marketing efforts in the Mexican market thanks to its totally renewed design and greater refinement that raises its level of competitiveness. In fact, the new compact crossover represents a strategic piece to consolidate the renewal of Buick’s image to better compete in the premium segment in Mexico.
“We are very happy to kick off this year’s launches with the Buick Envision 2021’s arrival,” said Marketing Manager for Buick at GM Mexico, Yammil Guaida, in a statement. “This generation is completely redesigned with new proportions, resulting in an attractive and athletic design that combines the expressiveness of a car with the practicality of an SUV. In addition, available for the first time, the Avenir offers exclusive attributes that raise the level of luxury,” he added.
Unlike the trim levels offered in the United States and Canada, the 2021 Buick Envision will be available in Mexico in a base trim called Leather, along with the range-topping Avenir. Both will include an exhaustive list of safety and technology features, and will stand out for being the first vehicle integrating Amazon Alexa in the country.
As in every market where it will be sold, the 2021 Buick Envision for Mexico will be equipped with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque in the Latin country, managed by GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission. The 2021 Envision will only be available in the Mexican market with a front-wheel drivetrain in both trim levels.
The all-new 2021 Buick Envision will be available for sale throughout the Buick-GMC dealership network in Mexico starting in the second half of this month, with a total of six exterior colors and two different interior finishes. However, the Metallic Grape paint and light interior trim are exclusive to the Avenir variant. The starting prices of the two versions of the 2021 Envision in the Mexican market are as follows:
- 2021 Envision Leather: 779,900 MXN (about $38,730 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2021 Envision Avenir: 849,900 MXN ($42,210 USD)

Similar styling to the new MDX, and that is a good thing.
Much better looking than outgoing model. Inside and out, very stylish. But, still WAY overpriced. Same with the Blazer. By the time you start adding options you get into Enclave/Traverse money for a smaller vehicle. Makes it prohibitive for me.
