2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Pictured Alongside 2021 Chevy Tahoe

We’ve just caught the upcoming 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup undergoing testing on public roads, and one shot in particular stuck out as rather interesting, as it shows the upcoming EV supertruck alongside the 2021 Chevy Tahoe. Looking past the fact that the Hummer is missing various production-intent features, the photo gives us a real-world understanding of the Hummer EV’s real-world dimensions while giving us an interesting data point on one yet-to-be-announced stat.

Assuming that both the Hummer and Tahoe are on even ground in this photo allows us to conclude that the former is slightly less tall than the latter. Those paying particular attention should know that GM has yet to officially confirm the height measurements of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup. It’s one of the few remaining stats that are still not known about the upcoming Ultium-powered EV.

Incidentally, both the Hummer and Tahoe feature Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, which enables the driver to control the vehicle’s ride height. Though both vehicles pictured here appear to be in their “regular” ride height settings, the Hummer EV’s suspension is capable of being raised about six inches to as part of the Extract Mode feature, while the 2021 Chevy Tahoe offers up to four inches of ride-height adjustment.

As far as the other stats, the Hummer EV pickup has a much longer wheelbase compared to the 2021 Tahoe, which enables the electric pickup to have a greater overall length. The Hummer is also quite a bit wider than the Chevy SUV, enabled by substantially wider front and rear tracks.

    1. Hmm, so contrary to the peanut gallery that mocks everything GM does, you can confirm first hand that initial demand is very strong for the Hummer EV! Thanks for the post.

GM Authority Staff – can someone update the article to correctly reference that the Hummer SUR EV will be available in Fall of 2021 versus the incorrectly reported Fall of 2022? Really important to get these dates accurately reported so the naysayers stop complaining that GM isnt serious about EVs.

  6. Nice, if they offered it with a diesel it probably sell more units than a EV powered. You somehow have to tow your C8.R to the track.
