2021 Cadillac XT5 Sport With Black Wheels Makes A Sexy Combo: Live Photo Gallery

The 2021 Cadillac XT5 Sport looks good all on its own. However, add a set of optional black wheels to the mix, and this Caddy crossover ratchets up to a whole other level, as evidenced in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

Let’s start with the basics. The 2021 Cadillac XT5 Sport is situated alongside the Cadillac Premium Luxury in the luxury marque’s Y-trim level strategy, offering a variety of unique aesthetic differences over the rest of the lineup, including a high-gloss black grille insert.

The design theme continue into the profile, where the 2021 Cadillac XT5 features glossy black roof rails and glossy black window surrounds (alternatively known as daylight openings, or DLO). The standard spec for XT5 Sport models includes 20-inch 12-spoke alloy wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish (RPO code Q6Q). This particular model, however, swaps the stockers in favor of 20-inch Gloss Black rollers.

These optional wheels are tagged with RPO code S2K, and are offered for an extra $2,095. The optional wheels also include wheel locks.

With the glossy black trim included with the Sport trim level and optional black wheels, this 2021 Cadillac XT5 looks sharp. The aesthetic is upgraded further with contrasting Crystal White Tricoat paint, an optional hue priced at $1,225.

The end result is a sporty and modern-looking midsize luxury CUV.

On the greasy side of the equation, the 2021 Cadillac XT5 Sport features the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, which is offered as the exclusive engine option for the Sport trim level. The XT5 Sport is also exclusively offered with all-wheel-drive. The rest of the lineup offers the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which is the exclusive engine option for the base model Luxury trim level, and one of two engines offered on the Premium Luxury trim level, the V6 LGX being the other engine option for the Premium Luxury. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard across the lineup.

  1. I am truly puzzled by everyone’s fascination with black wheels on everything and considering those to be an upgrade. To me it looks like commercial vehicle assigned to a police department or utility company, complete with white paint and black tires and wheels. This trend is popular I know, but fail to see how anyone can consider it beautiful, or stunning or classy or any other of the many ways I hear this look described. Not on my Cadillac!

    1. I agree. The black wheels make the Caddy look cheap. Chrome wheels would look a lot better.

      1. I would never get chrome. Black all the way.

        I’m guessing it’s a generational thing.

        1. You’re probably right. I’m over 60 and drive corvettes, and I have the same problem with all those vetts out there with black wheels.

  4. Black wheels are on my list of things I’ll never understand. Like matte paint finishes, flat-grey metal trim and River Dancing.

    1. Beautiful/classy automobile made to look like someone ran short of money and smudged their used wheels with tar…not so nice!

  7. I grew up with everything-chrome. I’m kind of chromed out, personally, and black wheels are fine.

  8. Black wheels make youres look gray. Your tires should look black. Not a big fan.

  9. I think it boils down to Car Colour and the exterior trim finishes. Brighter colours like white go better with chrome wheel and chrome window panels, putting black wheels on it gives it very a tampered aftermarket look.
