2021 Cadillac Escalade Onyx Package No Longer Available To Order

The optional Onyx Package is no longer available for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade or 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV full-size luxury SUVs.

The Onyx Package is usually available on the 2021 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV in the Sport and Sport Luxury trim levels. The cosmetic package costs $2,295 and includes the following equipment:

  • 22-inch 12-spoke Gloss Black finish alloy wheels (RPO code SSX)
  • Gloss Black Escalade nameplate (RIK)
  • Monochrome Cadillac emblems (SFZ)
  • Puddle lamp with Cadillac crest (S3I)

As covered by our sister site Cadillac Society, General Motors is currently unable to offer the Onyx Package on the Escalade due to the 22-inch 12-spoke Gloss Black finish alloy wheels that are included in it. As we reported earlier this month, none of the dealer-installed 22-inch wheels for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade are available to order at the moment, which includes the 12-spoke Gloss Black units that come in the Onyx Package, so it stands to reason that GM would choose to no longer offer this cosmetic package for the time being.

It is currently unclear when the availability of dealer-installed 22-inch wheels will be restored, or if this will happen during the remaining production timeframe for the 2021 model-year Escalade. As long as the 22-inch wheels are not available, customers can also expect the Onyx Package to remain off the table as well. That said, it’s possible Cadillac will continue to offer the Onyx Package on the Escalade into the 2022 model year.

Pricing for the Escalade models affected by the lack of availability of the Onyx Package (that being the Sport and Sport Platinum trim levels) starts at $86,890, including the destination charge. This price is for the rear-wheel-drive Escalade Sport fitted with either the naturally aspirated 6.2L L87 V8 gasoline engine or the Duramax turbodiesel 3.0L LM2 I6 engine.

  2. I’m starting to see them round town. Almost every black Escalade I see is the Sport with the Onyx package, I only saw one without it. I’m guessing that they sold through what they had very early.
