2021 Buick Envision Avenir Shows Its Elegance: Live Photo Gallery

The 2021 Buick Envision Avenir is the top-of-the-line trim level of the all-new, second-generation Envision. In fact, it’s the first time that the Avenir treatment will be offered on the Envision. To show just how elegant the new Buick crossover looks, we’re bringing you a real-world photo gallery of the vehicle in Rich Garnet Metallic and Satin Steel Metallic paint.

Both colors are offered as options, and add $495 to the starting MSRP of the Envision Avenir, which is $41,395 for the front-wheel-version or $43,195 for the all-wheel-drive powertrain. The same $495 price increase also applies if the vehicle is ordered with Dark Moon Blue Metallic, Ebony Twilight Metallic or Cinnabar Metallic paintwork. The only no-cost color is Summit White.

The Envision Avenir differs from the entry-level Preferred and the mid-range Essence models in that it comes as standard with 20-inch aluminum wheels with Avenir Pearl Nickel finish and a darker grille. The sills and the lower parts of the front and rear fascias are also body-colored, as opposed to black, as they are in the more affordable versions.

Our photos show Whisper Beige seats with Ebony interior accents – one of the two interior colorways available for the Envision Avenir. The predominant color here is Whisper Beige, but customers may prefer the alternative, which is Ebony seats with Ebony interior accents. Both are included in the MSRP – Buick does not offer an extra-cost option. The Envision Avenir features diamond-perforated quilted leather-appointed seats.

Standard features of the Envision Avenir include ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, HD Surround Vision and a ten-inch diagonal Buick Infotainment System with Navigation. Also supplied is the Buick Driver Confidence Plus package, which consists of nine safety features including Front Pedestrian Braking, Rear Park Assist and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert.

The 2021 Buick Envision rides on the GM E2 platform, which it shares with several other GM vehicles, among them the Cadillac XT4 luxury crossover and ninth-generation Chevrolet Malibu sedan. The only drivetrain offered is the 2.0L I4 LSY turbocharged gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The vehicle’s distinctive looks are outstandingly more modern than those of the outgoing, first-generation Buick Envision, which launched for the 2014 model year in China and 2016 model year in the U.S. The new version’s appearance owes a lot to the 2018 Buick Enspire concept, which made its global debut at the Auto China Show in Beijing.

  1. The front end look like all the other Buick SUVs and rear end look like Lexus, I don’t see Elegance at all but ok

  2. Such a shame but I’ll take a Lincoln.

  3. gm is trying soooo hard pushing the Envision to the American public… There’s an ad in each gmauthority. What you say gm and be honest and put a red CCP flag made in China on the window sticker next to the destination charges. And put made in China stamps in the door sills.

Every commercial and marketing slick you churn out it also comes with the red CCP flag.

Give the general public a choice.

I will say, this is a very nice looking vehicle, both inside and outside, almost to the point this could out sell your other Buick models. Since I haven’t test drove one I can’t comment on the ride…

  4. It could have been built in Lordstown, Oh.

    1. Yes they could have made this at Lordstown, If the Electric truck maker doesn’t get additional financing and Gm decides to exercise its waiver to re acquire this plant after it financed the purchase.

  5. So sad, CCP crippled our ability to make products in North and South America, gave a COVID and closed down our economy now GM is pushing CCP products on us made with slave labor. Maybe Ford does “have a better idea!

  6. Nice vehicle but I will never buy one made in China!

    1. Agreed, how could you bring the car here from China? What happened to japan, taiwan, israel, South Korea, and/or canada? At worst perhaps even I’ve been a GM user for over 40 years but will consider about switching to a competitor in 2021 or 2022. Cannot believe that GM would sell out to the China dictatorial regime especially as China is still technically an enemy of the free democracy of our country.

  7. US manufacturers and companies gave China the powerhouse it is today. Everything is made in China, computers, millions of Iphones and every Apple product. Just about every hand power tool, tool accessories like blades and batteries. Small household appliances, even stinkin nail clippers. Companies like EHKO and Sunbeam, nothing is made by them. They are essentially importers or license their Logo. The USA consumer has given S. Korea huge amounts of monies buying TV’s and Appliances (LG & Samsung), and automobiles like Kia and Hyundai. So automobiles is just up the ladder for the real big ticket items from China. Is it the US corporations or just the greedy American consumer that wants the lowest price possible or stockholders demanding a profitable return? Labor rates of the West cannot compete with the labor rates of the East.

    1. The irony is you stand a better chance of getting her Kia or Hyundai built in the US, then you do of getting a General Motors product built in the US. As for appliances, LG and Samsung both, I believe, have assembly lines in the United States.

Meantime, a Frigidaire brand freezer that I bought turned out to be made in China. I wouldn’t let the delivery man take it off the truck. I sent it back.

The US made tires I just bought for my other car, are made by a German company. The American company tires that I looked at were made in…. China.

  8. Enjoy that swanky stylish “Avenir” trim as you read more & more about millions of minority Muslim Uighurs in those China CCP “work & re-education” camps & the upcoming boycott of the CCP Summer Olympics next year because of suspected Genocide of these Uighurs and others. But you’re the proud owner of a new made in China Buick, so who cares!!

  9. The dark maroon (garnet metallic) is the same color as my CT4 and I also have the same interior color. I absolutely love that color combo! The gray one looks fine, but just not as good as the maroon to me. And the interior of this car may just be the best I’ve seen thus far. No ugly screen jutting up or out from the dash. Great angles. A center console that looks good yet seems like it will be very functional. This thing is just a home run.

    1. If I remember correctly, you said you work for a Mazda/Volvo dealer. How would you rate the Envision Avenir to comparable Mazda and Volvo models?

  10. A promising enough entry in the flooded CUV field but as with so many entries at GM there are issues that are hard to ignore. The top and only engine option only makes 228 HP according to Buick’s website which is less than literally every competitor and less than the outgoing versions 2.0T engine. The cheap looking black blank outs in the front bumper that should be fog lamps or running lights is shameful. The fake rear exhaust is something I would expect from Kia not Buick! The Whisper beige is nice enough for the interior but something a bit darker would hide dirt better. And why is paint colors other than white extra cost on the highest end trim level? And there should be some wood trim on the interior to jest it up a bit.
