This Is The Refreshed 2022 Buick Enclave

General Motors has unveiled a sneak peek of the refreshed 2022 Buick Enclave, showing off the latest styling for the premium brand’s flagship seven-seater crossover SUV.

The Enclave was originally slated to receive a refresh for the 2021 model year. However, due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was subsequently pushed back to the 2022 model year.

Now, we’re getting our clearest look yet thanks to this official sneak peek. Up front, the refreshed 2022 Buick Enclave features a reshaped fascia design that starts with revised headlamp housings, which are now longer and narrower, with prominent, slanted lighting signatures that are drawn back into the fenders. The headlamps are connected by a styling line that flows into a new grille section, which is now deeper and broader than before, visually enhancing the crossover’s upright stance.

Lower in the bumper, new lighting elements are mounted in the corners, while an additional U-shaped styling line completes the look up front.

Moving into the rear, we find the refreshed 2022 Buick Enclave offers new tail lamps with Y-shaped inner graphics that lead to a prominent center styling line. The rear glass in the hatch once again dips down into in a sharply sloped U-shape, while the lower bumper now rocks a curved lower spat that adds some nice creases to the mix.

Buick says the refreshed 2022 Enclave “includes a more modern, expressive design,” and adds that it will share more information on the vehicle later this year.

The refreshed 2022 Buick Enclave is scheduled to go on sale later in 2021.

  1. I really love the look of this refresh, just wish we could get a clearer look at those tail lights. New front fascia looks super modern too, the new detached headlights with the three projector tubes remind me of Lexus’s triple beam headlights; looks super upscale. Well done overall, now for the interior!

  2. Look pretty good and more Modern but any updates in the Interior?

  3. I’ll mimic what Brent and Momolos both said above. Looks fantastic and can’t wait to see what they do with the inside. Buick is on a roll.

New Encore GX seems to be a hit. I don’t personally mind the engine offerings, but feel it would sell better with the turbo 4 instead of a turbo 3. New Envision is just stunning. This refreshed Enclave looks fantastic. I even like the old Encore a lot and feel it’s still very competitive in that price point. With all that said, Buick is still missing something. Yup, they should have kept a couple sedans in the portfolio just to keep those few customers and be more ready when the market turns again.

  5. This does look nice, Buicks design direction almost looks more upscale than Cadillacs. Too bad Buick doesn’t do much with performance models. This would look amazing hunkered down 1″ with some nice thick performance tires!

    1. Truckz: I’ll agree with the part of your comment where the Buick almost looks more upscale than Cadillac. But for the love of god, please don’t encourage them to push Buick towards performance. They already took nearly every Cadillac that way. You can get plenty of Chevrolet’s that way. Buick is a premium brand, not a performance brand.

      1. IMO premium and performance belong in the same sentence. That said I’m clearly not suggesting Buick builds the next Corvette. Just a simple sport package on certain models to spice things up a bit. It would also attract new and younger buyers to the brand. As far as Cadillac I agree and disagree. I agree they have strayed too far from the luxury aspect but in no way should they back down from performance. I personally think they need to add a performance model to the Escalade line.

        1. If I’m not mistaken, Buick offers that package already for the Enclave. Mostly just cosmetic.

      2. What about Buick’s history of performance? GS350/400, GSX 455, Regal T-Types, GNX.

        1. Mike: Funny you bring those up. They had those sitting on showrooms along side Roadmasters, Park Avenues, LeSabre’s, Regal, Century, etc, etc. It’s not like the entire line was pushing performance. What’s more, if you look at the tires on those cars (let’s take the Regal GN and GNX at the end), the tires were not super low profile. Those cars rode well and didn’t really handle that well. They were more about brute straight line performance. But just like almost nobody on here wants to see Cadillac or Buick go back to things like the Park Avenue, this would be no different. Personally, I’d love to see Buick with a large sedan called Electra or Park Avenue. I’d love to see plusher materials inside and less black plastic. I’d love to see them concentrate on road isolation rather than the “feel of the road”. But that’s me. My point is that if you are going to look back, look back at them all.

          1. I Support your statement, I would also be happyto see Electra, not just the name but plush carpets and plush cloth seats with exterior that is American influenced and yet modern

    2. Ditto…this looks more luxurious than the XT6

      1. I would say Buick’s design language has greatly improved over the years, it’s much closer to Cadillac’s level of aesthetic, but the attention to detail and uniqueness in the Cadillac lineup still outclasses Buick.

  6. Looks nice but I wish Buick still made the Lacrosse. I have no need for a big three row SUV and prefer driving a sedan. The Lacrosse was a better car than the Lexus ES.

  9. The 2022 Buick Enclave looks to borrow some design cues of the Avenir concept car from a few years ago as it’s sleek and sexy.

  11. Looks stunning. Fantastic job, Buick! Honestly not trolling here folks, but I have to say:
What if the Cadillac XT6 was the third vehicle on the C2XX platform and adopted the Enclave’s clean, upscale design approach instead stretching and heightening the Acadia? I think we all know GM marketers were deathly afraid of creating a 3 row crossover so good it would cannibalize Escalade sales. I tbink a C2XX XT6 would’ve been a far superior vehicle than the current version and would’ve also struck a much “compromise” to using the Omega platform.

  12. Well Done Buick!.

It is difficult to style a SUV or CUV but Buick has really come on a strong styling concept and it should do well.

They have taken bulbus vehicles and given them flow to the design.

  13. Does this 2022 Enclave Avenier have a 4 year bumper to bumper warranty ?????

  14. The front end looks absolutely horrendous! Split headlamps haven’t lever looked good, and this version is the worst. The headlamps are so low they are practically at the bottom of the vehicle. So awful! It’s like someone punched the clay model and before they could fix it they accidently made the mold for the vehicle. The taillights look okay, but nothing spectacular on this bloated whale. I am sure the interior will still look dated. Too bad they couldn’t model this after the new Envision, which is actually gorgeous. Also… bring back the cars.
