GMC Sierra 1500 Now Available With Ebony Twilight Metallic Paint

The choice of colors for the GMC Sierra 1500 has been extended now that the pickup truck is being offered with Ebony Twilight Metallic paint. This was announced some time ago for the 2021 Sierra 1500, but it was known from the start that there would be a delay in availability.

The delay is now over, so GMC dealers can place orders for the truck in this color. It has been added to the configurator in the Sierra 1500 section of GMC‘s website.

Like most of the other exterior colors available, Ebony Twilight Metallic adds $495 to the cost of the GMC Sierra. It can be combined with any of the interior color schemes: Jet Black, Dark Walnut/Slate, Jet Black with Kalahari Accents and Dark Walnut/Dark Ash Grey. The RPO code for Ebony Twilight Metallic is GB8, and the touch-up paint number, if you should be unfortunate enough to need it, is WA-384A.

The new Ebony Twilight Metallic color is available on SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4 and range-topping Denali versions of the GMC Sierra, but not on the entry-level Sierra.

The default exterior color for most versions of the GMC Sierra 1500 is Summit White, though this is not available on the Denali. All other colors add to the price of vehicle, to wildly varying extents.

Of the options, the cheapest are Onyx Black, available in all trim levels, and Cardinal Red, which is offered for everything except the Denali. Both of these are priced at $195. The most expensive of them by a large margin is White Frost Tricoat, which is offered for the SLT and Denali and costs $1,095.

  2. Exactly!

Black is great for showrooms and auto shows. I’ve had 2 in my life which is 1 too many. Didn’t learn my lesson after the first. Though everyone should have at least one, if only to innoculate themselves.

  3. With all the dull colors available, look at a photo of the lot at a dealership and it looks like a photo from the 1920s = no color . . . just a black and white photo. When will General Motors wake up and offer some interesting colors?

I agree, but I’m afraid thats the Market speaking.

“Interesting” colors don’t sell. The Market wants white,, any shade of grey (silver to charcoal), blue and red. Sad, but true. Dealers don’t want to order and store products that few want, and OEMs don’t want to waste time and money building them.

  5. It’s been in the “configurator” all along because I’ve had a build there for months. Dealers just couldn’t order it on a 1500 but could on an HD, does that make sense? Typical GM. My dealer tried to order today but the system wouldn’t accept it “GM Authority” got it wrong.

  6. Onyx black is still the best black.
Have onyx black on 2020 Denali with Ultimate Package and after many rains lately, people daily ask me how I keep truck so clean….nothing seems to stick to it…it is so slick…
AND….I have had all colors of black with all kinds of flecks in it but nothing looks as clean as onyx black. Period.
I did delete the stupid aluminum wheels that came on this Denali because EVERYTHING JUST STUCK IN EVERY SLIT IN WHEELS and replaced 22’s with ChromeChevrolet High County 10 spoke wheels….and they do not attract dirt or grime and they look great all the time.
If you will check I believe you will find white is no.1 color and black ranks no.2 in colors of vehicles.
I have had probably 35-40 black vehicles, along with red, blues, green, silver, tan/browns, etc.
And also purple and white, and some with all the gold flecks, etc. that you could put.
I can always sell a black one much quicker than any other color.
    Thank You.

  7. I’ve had a ‘21 1500 AT4 on order since Nov 1, still waiting for the build to start because of the ebony twilight metallic color delay. 3.5 months and still nothing as of Feb 13. Maddening.

  8. Back when everybody was buying “hippie vans” I ordered a ’73 Chevy van in burnt orange the day before Halloween 1972. Chevy finally got around to building vans in the rare burnt orange and I took delivery on May 18th, 1973. By that time, I had saved up enough money to pay cash for the $3,237 van.
