General Motors has issued a technical service bulletin for the Chevy Tahoe, Suburban and GMC Yukon full-size SUVs over an issue related to over-the-air (OTA) infotainment system updates.
The problem: affected vehicles may have a condition where, if an over-the-air update was sent to an affected vehicle, the update would fail. Customers will see the update is available in the infotainment display, but after accepting to the terms and conditions and attempting to install the update, they will receive an update failed message.
The hazards: this problem does not pose a safety hazard to the owner, but the infotainment display will not receive updates if the problem is not addressed. This may affect the display’s ability to operate as intended.
The fix: dealers will be instructed to replace the entire infotainment display in affected vehicles. This fix should remedy the problem and allow the infotainment display to begin receiving over the air updates.

Ouch. Expensive fix
First TSB of this issue, so GM does not know the cause yet. They are likely wanting the whole Infotainment Screen replaced so it can be Shipped to GM for diagnostics. A later TSB will likely be issued with a less intrusive fix.
Do we all get a guess?
Sounds like electronic hardware to mean. I’d bet is a chipset change.
Your local dealer just swaps the unit. No expertise available or required.
Maybe a depot fix? But they can’t use it in a new vehicle…
I always appreciated the Tesla OTA fix for most everything… Catch up GM!
…but then one day the Tesla screen went blank… $3k fix…
Virtually everyday a recall. Pitiful!
They’re trying to catch up with Ford.
Once again infotainment issues…..GM cannot get it right….can’t wait until there tech toys get the larger screens and all there customers just see smudges and their own finger prints on a blanked and or locked screen……….
Chinese electronics at their finest. Maximum profits. But we have to do everything twice and stick it to the consumers
Nice try. The screens themselves are American (Harman). The system is Japanese (Denso TEN).
If you’ve been following along Harman is pure junk. Go ask Subaru drivers.
GM always changing things up , the don’t more get the bugs worked out of something then they got to try something different, IF IT WORKS GOOD LEAVE IT ALONE that’s y there well never be any more GM products in me drive way again
It seems it’s affecting more vehicles. Camaro6 website has a thread with this same problem.
Save pennies for the Lectrics, lose a fortune in recalls and defective cra$p.
And God brought the world LEXUS…
My screen didn’t take update and now won’t work this fifth recall on my car i have had since September. What a joke
Barra thinks GM is an IT company that JUST happens to make vehicles…..GM has been working on their infotainment systems since the mid 2005 model years . They still can’t get it done correctly……GM needs a CEO that puts the making of vehicles their main priority not a straw boss that wants to change the core of a auto manufacturing company……….
Update failed and now new radio’s are on back order. Im driving around with no Bluetooth, navigation or just music! Hands free is so important nowadays. Having no radio is absolute torture. I just want to throw this suv in the garbage now. Plus, there is no end in Sight! Who knows when the part will come in
Sell it….its a vehicle…meant for driving ….. getting from point A to B not a tech toy….
It’s an awful feeling I have been back and forth from dealer with my 2021 Tahoe, SD card issues, recalls, infotainment crash. I’m sorry I know how you feel.
