The all-new C8 Corvette is heaping slab of mid-engine goodness right out of the box, offering exotic-style performance and a flat, wide stance. But what if you took that width up a notch with a new body kit? Now, we’re getting a look at one artist’s interpretation of an extra-thick eighth-gen Chevy Corvette with the following rendering.
Recently posted to social media by Instagram user @carmstyledesign1, this C8 Corvette widebody ups the aggression of the new Chevy sports car by a considerable margin, adding a good deal of customization without completely changing the vehicle’s factory look.
The front end is familiar, with pointed headlamps stretched into the C8 Corvette’s fenders, pointing forward with the narrow, beak-like fascia. The lower fascia includes a new grille and bumper treatment, as well as a new splitter element that juts forward by a considerable length.
Moving back, we find new wheels with ultra-thin tires, which show off the big brakes underneath thanks to widely spaced spokes. The wheels are connected by some flat side skirts, finished in black, which do well to sandwich the C8 Corvette thanks to a black roof finish and black trim along the outer edge of the side intake “boomerang.”
The rear end is arguably the best-looking angle here, showing off with a new lower bumper section and diffuser that combine to add some extra roundness to the otherwise square tail. The top deck lid is adorned with a new spoiler, which rises off the Vette in an angular, GT-style design.
We’ve seen widebody C8 Corvettes before, but this particular take looks to enhance what came from the factory, rather than completely override it – something that’s likely appreciated by fans.

Yes
If I NEVER-EVER-EVVVVER saw one more “rendering” on GM Authority, it wouldn’t be soon enough.
That’s even worse than the production car.
Blechh.
Chevrolet can build this easily since existing body panels were manufactured using 3D rapid prototyping equipment as the new body panels could be printed and then bolted in place; but even if Chevy decides not to, there will be vendors with the equipment to build this C8 Corvette.
Hire him. Chevy can’t seem to come up with a wide body that they think is good enough to show us.
I prefer the original look.
Looks good. Customizing vehicles…It’s been a personal thing for centuries
From one angle it looks better. Need better rendering. But reminds me of how the Porsche Turbos with the wide wheel fender was the coolest looking Porsches (somewhere in the 70’s) ever so they stop making it.
Looks good at only one angle. Not rendered well enough. Trying to look like a 70’s Porsche Turbo the widest curved Porsche ever produced so they don’t make it anymore.
