The 2021 Buick Envision introduces an all-new second generation, with a ground-up redesign that adds eye-catching style, cutting-edge technology, and even more luxury to the compact crossover nameplate. Now, GM Authority has learned that just under a third of 2021 Envision orders are equipped with the optional Sport Touring package.
In a recent interview with GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, Buick Marketing Manager Rob Peterson revealed that 30 percent of 2021 Buick Envision orders include the optional Sport Touring package.
Earlier this week, GM Authority took a look at the Sport Touring package as applied to the 2021 Envision in Summit White paint. For those that don’t know, the package is an aesthetics upgrade that includes a variety of tasty styling enhancements. These include:
- 20-inch wheels with Dark finish
- Unique ST badging
- Grille surround and mesh inserts
- Black roof rails
- Body-color door handles
- Dark Gloss finish of lower trim/wheel arch moldings, exhaust bezels, window trim and mirror caps
The Sport Touring package is available as a stand-alone option for the Preferred and Essence trim levels. However, it is not available on the range-topping Avenir. The package also requires one of the following exterior colors:
- Ebony Twilight Metallic
- Summit White
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Cinnabar Metallic
The latest 2021 Buick Envision features all-new styling, with a reshaped front fascia framed by horizontal headlamps and checkmark lower lighting signatures, plus a broad grille. The proportions are lower and wider than those of the 2020 model year.
Under the skin, the 2021 Buick Envision rides on GM’s E2 platform, and draws motivation from the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gas engine. Output is routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission, with both FWD and AWD offered.
Production takes place at the GM China (SAIC) Jinqiao facility in Shanghai, China. As GM Authority covered previously, the new Envision is arriving at ports now, although inventory is very low.

Comments
30 percent of the 2021 Buick Envisioned ordered included the sport touring package, this gives a clue that suggest buyers may be younger than Buick yesteryear consumer.
I’m not really a fan of these types of packages, but I feel this one will do the job well for Buick. As omegatalon said above, this may show that more younger buyers are headed to Buick showrooms. Also, this package is nice because it’s sportier, but the wheel openings are painted instead of just plain black plastic. So the base Envision will be (without this package) the plain black plastic, the base preferred and Essence will offer this package, and then the Avenir will have the really nice looking mono-tone body colored trim. That seems to make sense. Personally, I’d go the Avenir!!
This doesn’t surprise me. The local dealer went hog wild with the ST variant.
The package looks okay but those wheels have to go. The ST rims on the Enclave look so much better.
