Other features include textured step pads to help provide secure footing, and a Deploy Running Board mode for car wash cleaning.

The assist steps are available only for the AT4 trim level of the Sierra HD and are priced at $1,895. However, they require the AT4 Premium Plus package (RPO code PDG), which is normally priced, without discounts, at $7,975. This package includes the following equipment:

  1. I’m glad it’s finally an option on the fully loaded AT4 and Denali HD’s but I really think is should be an option for all trim levels.

  2. Want the steps but don’t want a sunroof so can’t get them…..makes no sense. Wise up GM and stop making the nice accessories only available on top trims.

  3. Have to agree, people like to pick what add-ons they want, not a package full of items they’ll seldom use. All just to run the price up. These assist steps should be available of all levels, people would buy them.

  4. Marketing people need to listen better than they do.

  5. For what we are paying for our trucks nowadays, we should be able to pick and choose any option that’s available throughout all trim levels!

  6. Upon delivery of my 2021 3500 Duramax I stepped out of the cab onto the deployed rails and caught myself just before falling to the ground. The coating on the rails and rubber soles on shoes are dangerous. For $81K msrp they could due a better job on the rails. The $1100 price tag is not worth it. I added some wide nonslip strips to the rails problem solved.

  7. I bought a 2021 GMC 2500 AT4 Duramax on February 15, President Day. Truck fully loaded, Running boards on back order. Going on a month now and they keep telling me it could be another month and on Ebay I see GMC running boards for sale. Go FN FIGURE.

  8. Is there a way to program them so every time they deploy the LED light strip on them illuminates? I have found they only illuminate when the truck is off.
