The 2021 Buick Envision introduces a brand-new second generation for the compact four-door crossover utility vehicle (CUV). Offering sleeker styling and sporting a lower, wider stance than the preceding model, the new Envision looks good, and now, we’re bringing it into focus in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
The 2021 Buick Envision continues to slot between the Enclave and Encore/Encore GX in the brand’s crossover lineup, and is now available in the popular premium Avenir trim level. As GM Authority covered previously, the new Envision is arriving now, but inventory is low, with less than one unit per dealer currently available.
As for this particular 2021 Buick Envision, it’s equipped with the ST (Sport Touring) package, which is complemented by Summit White paint. The all-new exterior design features premium proportions, plus smooth, curvaceous lines.
The front end rocks a set of horizontal headlamps that are drawn back towards the front fenders and underlined by checkmark-style LED lighting signatures. The grille insert is bisected by a horizontal stying line and Tri-Shield Buick badge, while parallelogram-shaped side intakes complete the bumper. We also spot a unique grille surround and mesh insert included with the ST package.
Further ST package upgrades are seen from the side view, including the 20-inch wheels with a Dark finish. There’s also a set of black roof rails and body-color door handles, all of which is included in the ST package.
Further package details includes a Dark Gloss finish for the lower trim bits, wheel arch moldings, window surrounds, mirror caps, and exhaust bezels.
In back, we spot tail lamps that mimic the shape of the headlamps up front, plus unique ST badging. The lower bumper is equipped with a fake exhaust treatment, a styling cue echoed by the 2022 Buick Enclave and Buick Encore GX.
To note, the Sport Touring package offered with the 2021 Buick Envision is priced at $1,325, and is available as a stand-alone upgrade for the Preferred and Essence trim levels, but not the Avenir. The package requires one of the following exterior colors:
- Ebony Twilight Metallic
- Summit White
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Cinnabar Metallic
Inside, the 2021 Buick Envision features a brand-new cabin design, as well as an available 10-inch diagonal touchscreen, with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto included.
Engine options are limited to the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gas unit, which produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin is GM’s E2 platform. production takes place at the GM China (SAIC) Jinqiao plant in Shanghai, China.

Awesome looks, quality and value, built at one of the best factories in the world. Is this the best of its type on the market? Way to go Madam Mary and GM!!
The China factory is the best?
It does look good. Borrows heavily from Mazda, which is a good thing.
Mike: I think he’s referring to the plant that assembles this Envision and that it was ranked as the highest or one of the highest for quality.
I sell Mazda’s. This only resembles a Mazda in the fact that it’s a CUV. This thing blows everything Mazda is attempting to be out of the water.
Yeah Beijing Jeff, our Chinese masters are awesome.
It kind of looks good, but I think the regular and Avenir versions look better.
Paul: I agree. The thing about the Avenir that I like is the mono-tone colors. I’ve never liked the black plastic around the wheels of anything (even Jeeps). I understand it was originally done to “protect” the wheel opening from getting paint scratched off, but absolutely nobody takes these types of SUV/CUV’s off road. That’s what I feel makes the Avenir look so much better.
Buick and Lincoln needs to get back to building cars Regal, Century, Le Sabra, Park Ave. I rented a Buick Encore last week, it look and felt like a Kia CHEAP. The engine jerk at take off from every stop light, it had a average ride the Ford Escape is way nicer Simple Sad
Well the Escape is about a class size larger than the Encore… And about $10-15k more, so I would hope the Escape rides nicer… Also don’t sleep on Kia, the Seltos with the 1.6t is a very nice driving vehicle.
No thanks. I don’t want a car built in China with China parts and China labor and China transportation to have Americans sell to Americans. I will not support China’s economic wealth to become stronger than America. I will not support Obama’s, Bidens’ Pelosi’s, and Swalwell’s Chinese wallet fund either.
I agree the SUV is sharp looking and if the labor was here I would think about buying one.
As of this week, Beijing Biden just dropped 40k plus jobs that has huge trickle down effect that hurt Americans, we don’t need to contribute by buying a Chinese product under GM logo. GM can find other ways to find revenue.
Didn’t mean to be political but buying foreign is not one of my top priorities where they want to take us over…
I have relatives in the Navy and South China is serious and getting more serious.
i thought your orange god brought china to its knees? are you tired of winning?
Americans buy Toyota, Honda, Kia, …. Why??? Where are Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Mercury, … ??
Not asking to sell to China. Not asking you to buy or not to buy from China… That’s your choice. As I stated, it’s my choice and stated as such. I don’t have to be an economics professor to know what’s taking place.
I also stated the truth regarding those politicans. Look it up before it’s erased.
South China Sea is real and “could be the catalyst” for greater tensions with China. They announced to fire on any vessel not abiding by Beijing’s order to stay out.
Again your choice as I spoke mine.
If you buy one, share the experience.
Sorry but it’s hard for me to take this thing seriously for the prices being charged. How can a sport exterior trim upgrade have cheap looking black plastic blank outs instead of actual fog lamps? Fake exhaust! A detuned wimpy 228 HP engine that is down 24 compared to last years model. Putting ugly black rims on with some blackout trim is a poor substitute for being sporty!
