The 2021 Buick Envision began arriving at dealerships in the United States earlier this month, and now, the compact crossover has officially launched in Canada, as well.
Just as in the U.S., the 2021 Buick Envision will be offered in Preferred, Essence and Avenir trim levels in Canada. Prices will start at $37,598 including destination for the entry-level Preferred trim with front-wheel drive, while the Preferred trim level with all-wheel drive will start at $39,998. The Essence is offered with AWD only in Canada and will start at $41,298, while the range-topping Avenir will also offer AWD as standard and will start at $46,298.
Buyers can also add the Sport Touring Package to the Essence and Avenir trim levels at a cost of $1,295. The Sport Touring Package rounds up items such as dark exterior trim and dark 20-inch alloy wheels.
The 2021 Buick Envision actually undercuts the previous-generation 2020 model, which started at $38,793 including destination and freight charges and a $495 mandatory paint fee. The previous-generation Envision came standard with AWD, however, whereas the next-gen model offers a base FWD variant.
The only engine on offer in the 2021 Buick Envision is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired to a GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Production for the crossover, which rides on the GM E2 platform, takes place at the GM China (SAIC) Jinqiao plant in Shanghai, China.
“The all-new 2021 Envision is an incredible opportunity for Buick Canada,” Buick Canada Brand Director Michael MacPhee said in a prepared statement. “The Envision will be in Canada’s largest segment in the industry and we are confident the SUV’s strong design and advanced technology will make it stand apart from its competitors.”
Standard equipment on the entry-level Preferred trim levels includes QuietTuning technology with Active Noise Cancellation and an eight-inch color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Really like the looks of this vehicle inside and out. Still not sure why Buick left the upper dash as just plastic unless I’m missing something in the photos. They usually do such a good job with leather-looking trim to make things feel more luxurious. At least the Avenir trim could have done something more special.
Are they all made in China?
For those who want more luxury this is great, but it seems a bit difficult to justify the price when the 2022 GMC Terrain (sister car) is expected to offer better value.
This is not even the same platform Richard, Terrain is built on the Delta platform and Envision is built on the E2XX platform.
The public doesn’t care about internal GM platform design they care about looks ,performance ,price and many where it’s built !
I stand corrected. Apparently they once shared the same platform but the new 2021 model changed it. Perhaps a test drive would change my mind, but I’m not seeing the value.
Looks German.
The US version is made in China. Don’t know about the Canadian version.
