The 2021 Buick Envision only began arriving at ports in the United States last month, and is now trickling into dealerships, but already General Motors is attempting to attract buyers to the crossover with a small cash rebate lease promotion.
Through the GM Lease Loyalty and Lease Conquest promotion, buyers of the 2021 Buick Envision can receive a $500 cash rebate on the crossover. To qualify for this promotion, the buyer must present proof of a 2016 model year or newer GM or non-GM lease, and must lease the new vehicle through GM Financial.
Pricing for the 2021 Buick Envision starts at $32,995 for the entry-level Preferred trim level including destination. For this price, buyers will receive standard equipment such as QuietTuning technology with Active Noise Cancellation and an eight-inch color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The mid-range Essence trim, meanwhile, starts at $36,995 and adds features like 18-inch machined aluminum wheels, heated front seats, a 10-inch Buick Infotainment system, and a hands-free programmable power liftgate with LED logo projection.
The range-topping Avenir trim is priced from $41,200 and brings high-end features like 20-inch wheels, heated front and rear outboard seating and an HD surround vision camera system, among more.
The 2021 Envision, which represents the second generation of the compact crossover nameplate, comes standard with front-wheel drive, although a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system is available across all trim levels for an $1,800 premium. The only available engine is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY, which produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The turbo four is paired exclusively with a GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
The new version of the crossover rides on the GM E2 platform, which it shares with the Cadillac XT4 luxury crossover. It is produced at the GM Jinqao plant in Shanghai, China for export to North America and for local consumption in China.

When the Mulroney says ‘Made in China’, they’ve gotta do something. The last China-made Envision carried $6,750 in rebates and I think were still hard for dealers to move. This one is much-improved but still hails from a communist nation that seeks to dominate the world. Why would any American feed that? There are much better choices than the Buick Envision that are made in the United States or other democracies where their citizens live free.
But it’s “RACIST” to criticize China! And they will punish us and not let us have Apple products! We will have to use those icky Android phones! How dare you!
could someone tell me why i should buy a base fwd envision when i can buy a fully loaded mazda cx5 awd with more horsepower for only a few thousand more?
Uhm… wait, I have this. Because some folks might not want to spend a few thousand more? Just a thought…
in that case they should just buy the carbon edition fwd cx5 because it costs a couple thousand less than the base envision with more horsepower.
Go for it. Some people want a Buick that’s why they build them.
I would never buy a Buick because they are overpriced Chevy’s. BUT I really, really LIKE Buick as a market slot, mid-lux positioning and legacy brand and some of their products are BEAUTIFUL. Old Rivs are my favorite legacy product. The 2011 Enclave is my favorite of the “new GM” Buicks. And the current Encore is the right size product and style and comfort I want but lacks electric power. The upcoming Buick EV is ugly and will be overpriced.
GM can’t humble itself to make Buick affordable to outsiders needed to carry the brand when fanboys die off from covid. They want to keep squeezing money out of boomers and Xers and don’t know how to get younger people interested.
Value & style. That’s how.
Here we go again with steve’s Mazda obsession. I sell them. The Mazda is in no way even close to Buick. And you are quite wrong on the pricing in terms of your “several thousands” comment. First, a “comparable” (not so) Mazda CX5 GT front drive for 2021 is about $31,500. Move on up, and you very quickly find yourself shelling out nearly $40,000 for a Mazda CX5!! Only a fool would do such a thing. So let me think on this one: I totally loaded Envision Avenir or a CX5 Signature? No brainer. Buick wins hands down.
So go back to drooling over your Mazda’s and go to a different site if you are so into Japanese cars.
Spoken like an Expert
I drive an Enclave Avenir and was looking at the new Envision Avenir for next car which looks great but why did they go cheap. Massage seats only for the driver not passenger, the old Envision had Rainsense wipers which appear to be gone from new Envision and no two tone interior as shown in the Chinese version. The XT4 has everything for a few bucks more and not built in China.
Made in China.
You can keep it.
I wouldn’t buy it if it was $5,000 rebate.
Same. I’ll never buy made in China till they allow American imports without higher tariffs. I voted for Biden not because I liked him but because Trump broke the country, rule of law and dropped the covid ball. But I supported Trump’s efforts to stand up to China and hope Biden will follow his lead.
I will also not buy a made in China car until they get their human, animal and eco rights in order. And the CCP “people’s party” needs to respect OTHER people’s intellectual property before I buy their cars.
Who could have Envisioned so many anti China comments. Not on this site. Nice vehicle, and one of the better built in the GM portfolio. Maybe the best built.
Is it “racist” to criticize China?
Most of the products you use in your daily life are made in China. Get over it.
Actually, they are not. Get over it.
If you buy gas for your car, your money leaves the country. If you buy electricity for your car, it stays. How much are you spending on gas again? LOL
Bolt and Tesla are made in America.
I check the labels. I buy second hand. I don’t constantly upgrade. I don’t have continuous garage sale turnaround from impulse shopping. The amount of actual brand new MIC things that come in my house are very, very low.
The inescapable parts of MIC are clothing, especially for kids. And small household appliances – which people don’t maintain or are cheap.
Escapable items are furniture. Accessories you have to be careful with.
Electronics like phones “made in china” actually have most of their important parts made in other countries like Germany and imported into China for final assembly.
Reshoring is happening. Be on our team please. You live here. Don’t you?
LOL The phone or computer that you just typed your message with was made in China. So was the majority of the appliances in your home and so on. Start reading the back of the products you own, as most will not be made in Amurica.
You’re wrong, but keep telling yourself that so you don’t have to work and change.
Electronics have their most important technological and dollar value parts made in other countries like Germany and USA and then imported into china for final assembly into frames.
Ever consider NOT replacing phones constantly? Do you “need” the latest phone? Can’t you put a case on it and maintain it longer? Same with laptops?
Small appliances yes, they are mostly MIC.
Most large appliances in MY home are made in USA, Mexico and Europe. In Europe, the manufacturing is cleanest, employee treatment is highest, enviro responsibility most extensive, taxation not oppressive.
I have no problem buying European items, it has nothing to do with being “white”.
Did I understand correctly that the Avenir does not get the twin clutch AWD as standard?
