In case you’re out of the loop, there’s a new Ghostbusters movie set to drop later this year. It’s called Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and it looks to be a sequel to the original two movies, unlike the reboot that was released in 2016. As such, the new movie will feature a range of original characters, including the classic Cadillac Ecto-1! If you love the idea of seeing Ecto back on the big screen, then the folks at Turnin Rust have just the thing to tide you over, as they transform this 1963 Cadillac hearse into a spectacular rolling tribute.
Granted, the original Ecto-1 was based on a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance, but as the Turnin Rust crew points out, their Cadillac hearse project was never intended to be a perfect replica. Instead, it’s a project inspired by the famed ghost-busting-mobile, and judging by the detail on the finished build, this thing looks like it would do Peter, Winston, Egon and Ray proud.
The build is split into two extended videos over an hour in length, each of which is previewed by a shorter teaser video clocking in at just a few minutes. Built to strut its stuff at the annual Lone Star Throwdown in Conroe, Texas, this Cadillac hearse is dripping with cool details, including a diesel Cummins powerplant, and even a flamethrower mounted on the roof.
The last video in the series shows the Ecto-Boost Cadillac hearse sitting pretty, with a host of awesome details to help it turn heads and pay homage to one of the most beloved movie cars of all time.
The Turnin Rust boys did a fantastic job with this one, and watching it all come together is a blast, so sit back, hit play, and enjoy the build for this diesel-swapped Cadillac hearse Ecto-1 tribute machine.

Great movie. I love this old caddy and the mods they did to it. I hope the car is still around and not in some scrapyard.
