The latest 2021 GMC Sierra HD follows a complete overhaul (redesign and re-engineering) introduced for the 2020 model year, with the 2021 heavy-duty pickup introducing a few minor changes and updates for the second production year of the new fourth-gen model. One of the 2021 updates is the addition of Hunter Metallic to the available paint options palette, and now, we’re getting a look thanks to the GMC Sierra HD online configurator.
The new Hunter Metallic paint option for the 2021 GMC Sierra HD is exclusive to the Denali trim level, and presents in a grey-green tone that’s understated, yet unique, stepping outside the traditional grayscale range of whites, blacks, and silvers to add a splash of color to the mix.
Pricing for the new color is set at $495, per the 2021 GMC Sierra HD online configurator.
Orders for 2021 GMC Sierra HD models in Hunter Metallic opened in December. However, availability is limited, running at about 5 percent, GM Authority has learned from sources familiar with the matter. Availability for the new hue is expected to expand in January of 2021.
As GM Authority covered in October, the all-new 2021 GMC Yukon also now offers Hunter Metallic paint. Like the 2021 GMC Sierra HD, the 2021 GMC Yukon only offers Hunter Metallic with the Denali trim level, with the new hue carrying an additional charge of $495.
As a reminder, the 2021 GMC Sierra HD rides on a more capable version of the GM T1 platform, the same bones as the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 and several other full-size GM trucks and SUVs. Customers are offered two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gas unit, which produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, which produces 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.

another ugly dark color to hide all the cheap black plastic all over the body of the truck, black interior only color, the trucks look so cheap. Ram builds nice trucks
Go buy a Ram and be happy……Ill take Chevy anytime….
Don’t forget you need all that cheep plastic to hide the rust that will start after 3 years. What do you expect for $45000 plus.
Okay $500 for green. Slow news day lol.
GM should have a nice shade of green as a standard no extra cost color choice. I just cannot understand the very limited color palette that is available on GM trucks compared to Ford or Ram.
unless it is non-metallic white, black or fire engine red GMC will charge you I think you order parks dept. green
Check out the GMC website, Summit White is now the only color that doesn’t come with an Extra Cost option, and I mean the ONLY color, that is f—– retarded.
yes because GM is all about cheap and no style, no wow factor. they use these dark colors to blend with the cheap wheel lip molding in cheap black plastic, cheap plastic on cab steps, bed steps. bumper steps, cheap interiors , thin seats, If you took the denali emblem s off the doors of a white truck or removed the high country emblem you would think they are selling a work truck. cheap black wall tires , cheap looking wheels , fake allision transmission , recalls out the wazoo, no tan interior or gray, no two tone paint , Ram is selling cause they look good , and there diesel in the 3500 pull well. Ram and ford seats are very comfortable , cabins are laid out well, GM loves little tiny switches and dials , gm uses the same bracket to install the cab steps on all trucks, yet the 2500 and 3500 sit 4″ taller, the trucks are so flawed, I know I own one.
Just check the GMC website. You must do a search on their website for 2021 Sierra to find the configurator. Hunter Metallic is also avaialble on the 1500 Denali with a Dark Walnut/ÂDark Ash Grey interior but as usually the dealers will load up with black interiors. It’s actually quite nice though another dark color was not needed. How about light green and light blue metallics!
I’ll agree with that. More light colors like silver blue and silver green.
A lot of dealers, even some of the big ones only order dark interiors because the lighter ones are a tougher sale. I like some of the lighter colors but not the added work of keeping it clean. Always loved a all burgundy interior but you will never see the variety like back in the day it is to much hassle for the OEMs
OH BOY ! Another shade of gray from which to choose. If you select this from all the gray shades – – once you get the truck, how can you tell if you got the correct gray since all are about the same. . . . boring and dull. Nothing special about any of the color selection. (question = do any of the design team read these comments? If so, they would get an earful )
They do it all comes down to the deneros
I do not think they will even hit the 5%.Unless it is at least 2 shades darker than the pic. I would not call it hunter.
wait till 4 years from now , these cheap trucks with all the black plastics and dark colors will look like there 10 years oleven the top of line trucks look like work trucks , gm has cost cutting everywere , disappointing
