Christmas is all about showing the your loved ones you care for them, and while the COVID-19 pandemic has made this year’s holiday season a bit unusual, General Motors still wants to encourage its social media followers to give back with its new “Chevy Neighbor” ad campaign.
GM is encouraging its social media followers to send in stories of a person in their neighborhood who contributes to the community in a positive way. The automaker will then choose the best stories that are submitted and feature them on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, highlighting these local good Samaritans as a true Chevy Neighbor.
“For Chevy drivers, the holidays are about giving,” the automaker said in an Instagram post promoting the ad campaign. “In the comments, tell us about a Chevy Neighbor in your community who has gone above and beyond, and we might feature your story on our channel.”
The automaker is also sharing a short Chevy Neighbor video on social media with this campaign, which shows a woman dropping off groceries to an elderly neighbor, a family dropping off some supplies at a donation center and other examples of Christmastime deeds. The ad also features the Chevy Trailblazer Activ, Chevy Silverado High Country and 2021 Chevy Tahoe.

So if you have a neighbor that is the type of person to shovel the driveway for elderly neighbors or drop off some fresh baked goods unannounced, then Chevy wants to hear about them. They could get some extra recognition for all their generosity and be featured on Chevy’s various social media pages, which just might put a smile on their face as we prepare to put the cap on the strange and difficult year that was 2020.
