The first units of the all-new, second-generation 2021 Buick Envision are now arriving at ports, GM Authority has learned. As such, the vehicle will soon become available at retail.
The next-gen 2021 Buick Envision continues to be offered as a compact four-door crossover utility vehicle (CUV), slotting above the smaller Buick Encore GX and Buick Encore, as well as below the larger Buick Enclave with regard to the Tri-Shield brand’s model lineup. Notably, the new Envision will offer Buick’s popular high-end Avenir trim level, a first for the nameplate.
Outside, the 2021 Buick Envision features a lower, wider stance, with styling cues pulled from the Buick Enspire concept that debuted in 2018. The cabin space features an available 10-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a number of built-in apps, including Pandora, Amazon Alexa, and Fox Sports. Safety technology features include standouts like Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Alert.
Motivation is sourced from the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gas engine, which produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission, with FWD equipped as standard, and AWD offered as an available option on all trim levels with the exception of the base model. The range-topping Avenir trim offers an exclusive twin-clutch AWD system.
According to the EPA, the 2021 Buick Envision is rated at 24 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 26 mpg combined when equipped with FWD. Add in the optional AWD system, and the EPA estimates drop to 22 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined.
Under the skin, the 2021 Buick Envision rides on GM’s E2 platform, the same bones as the Cadillac XT4. Production takes place at the GM China (SAIC) Jinqiao plant in Shanghai, China.

I am sure glad no one here shops at Walmart or Cosco or owns a computer or cell phone from China 😉
I am no fan of China but I love how everyone complains about it but few actually are willing to pay full price for American made.
I used to be able to get American brake rotors but no more because people refused to pay the price.
Dont blame the consumer. it was your pocket filling corrupt Republican and Conservative politicians who were the corporate pawns who gave us trade agreements. Eliminating our jobs and decimating our economic tax bases. Deficit, deficit it’s the greedy peons fault. What a crock. Bunch of sheep.
It’s the 2.0T liter that will kill the sales. When will GM learn?
We don’t have much choice when buying a computer or phone…but.. we still have a choice when it comes to purchasing cars. I will never buy a chinese car.
Never say never!
In 5 years you might regret having said that.
