The Tri-Shield brand is offering employee pricing to everyone during December 2020, resulting in a generous Buick Encore discount of $5,181 below MSRP. Notably, the offer includes a $3,500 purchase allowance in addition to the employee pricing rebate, which varies depending on the price of the purchase vehicle.
And while the headlining offer is available for for 2020 Encore models, a lesser $2,900 rebate is also available for select 2021 Encore models, as is a nationwide lease offer of $199 per month with $1,219 due at signing.
The Incentive
Nationwide Buick Encore discount offers during the month of December 2020 are as follows:
- Purchase Offers:
- 2020 Encore: $3,500 cash allowance

- 2021 Encore: $2,900 cash allowance
- Excludes base 1SV trim level
- 2020 Encore: $3,500 cash allowance
- Lease Offer:
- 2021 Encore: $199 per month for 39 months
- Applies to Encore FWD Preferred
- Ultra low-mileage lease with 10,000 miles per year
- For eligible current lessees:
- $0 security deposit
- $1,219 due at signing (after all offers)
- Offer observed in the New York City market
- 2021 Encore: $199 per month for 39 months
Interested parties should note that all of the above offers will be valid through January 4th, 2021.
The headlining Buick Encore discount actually makes the starting price of a 2020 Preferred model more affordable than a non-discounted base Encore 1SV. For reference, here are the 2020 and 2021 Buick Encore starting MSRPs by trim level, which include the $995 destination freight charge:
- Encore (1SV) – $24,195
- Preferred (1SB) – $25,595
Notably, this month’s Buick Encore discount is more generous than last month’s offer, which was identical to October’s $4,250 offer and only slightly more generous than September’s rebate as well as the discount in August. It’s even more worthwhile than July’s rebate, which also included GM employee pricing.

One would think General Motors would be doing the opposite given the South Korean factory is on strike; this suggests that the management at General Motors thinks the issue of the strike will be resolved quickly or that there is a huge number of Buick Encore vehicles sitting in warehouses.
Must sell 2020 inventory. The 2021 are out. Has nothing to do with strike.
