2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Is Introduced In South Korea

Just as the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer is about to end a truly complex and challenging first year in the market, General Motors has just introduced the second model year of the subcompact-plus crossover in South Korea, its primary home country. The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer arrives in the South Korean market with significant standard feature list improvements.

The automaker has beefed up the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer lineup in South Korea by replacing the current entry-level powertrain configuration with the more powerful engine, in addition to upgrading the list of standard features of each trim level without increasing the vehicle’s price. Although it’s not yet official, these changes will likely be applied to the units manufactured at the GM Bupyeong plant that are earmarked for the North America market.

“The Trailblazer, which is recording an outstanding performance in the export market with an impact that surpasses the vehicle class, exceeds customers’ expectations with superior product quality,” said Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Service at GM Korea, Cesar Toledo, in a statement. “We are confident that by strengthening the list of convenience features for the same price, we will further increase customer satisfaction for 2022 model year,” he added.

Turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T Engine

Specifically, the big news for the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is that the most powerful engine is now fitted as standard in all trim levels. As such, the base variants ditch the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH in favor of the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T engine which generates 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. The unit is mated to the continuously variable automatic transmission in FWD versions, and the nine-speed automatic transmission in AWD variants.

In addition, the second model year of the Trailblazer will be more competitive by offering more standard features and optimizing option packages. In fact, despite the engine change and new equipment such as 18-inch alloy wheels for the Activ trim, GM has announced that the starting price of each trim level wouldn’t increase in the South Korean market. The Trailblazer will also receive an updated color palette, as the new Milano Red and Monaco Blue will replace the existing Agata Red and Midnight Blue hues.

The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer has just entered its pre-sale period and will be officially launched at the beginning of the 2021 calendar year in South Korea, one year after the new crossover arrived in the country’s dealerships last January.

    1. It will be soon. If GMK(or Dealer) don’t have a problem, I except you see the 2022 Trailblazer next month.
