The 2021 Chevy Traverse hits the ground running with two new styling packages for the latest model year, including the Midnight Edition package, and the Sport Edition package, as GM Authority covered earlier this week. Now, we have uncovered pricing info for the two special edition Chevy models.
Unsurprisingly, pricing is identical between the two packages, but varies depending on the trim level selected. When added to the 2021 Chevy Traverse LS trim, the Midnight Edition package and Sport Edition package are priced at $1,295. When added to the LT Cloth trim (1LT) or LT Leather trim (3LT), pricing for the Midnight Edition package and Sport Edition package drops to $1,145.
Package content is nearly identical for all trim levels. The only difference is the addition of roof rails when added to the LS trim level, which would explain the $150 price difference.
More specifically, the 2021 Chevy Traverse Midnight Edition package requires the Mosaic Black Metallic paint option, and includes the following content:
- Black ice grille
- Black-painted aluminum wheels
- Black Bow Tie and badging
- Black roof rails
Meanwhile, the 2021 Chevy Traverse Sport Edition is offered in a variety of exterior colors except Mosaic Black Metallic, but comes with similar content as the Midnight Edition package, including:
- Black ice grille
- Black-painted aluminum wheels
- Black fog lamp bezels
- Black tailgate applique
- Black Bow Tie and badging
- Black roof rails
The 2021 Chevy Traverse Midnight Edition and Sport Edition packages follow the success of similar packages offered with the Chevy Trax and Chevy Malibu, both of which came with black detailing, black grilles, and black wheels.
The 2021 Chevy Traverse is the fourth model year of the second-generation nameplate, and arrives with just a few small changes over the preceding 2020 model-year vehicle. Customers are offered a single engine option, namely the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY, which produces 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Under the skin is the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

A novel, revolutionary idea ! Park these two at the mall and they will look like all the other black or white vehicles.
GM’s refusal to offer a proper performance package is just embarrassing. Here’s the same car, same performance, but we put red letters on (engineers high-five each other)
