Westin Offers Tough New Grille Guard For Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra: Video

Westin is offering a new grille guard compatible with the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks. Dubbed the Sportsman X, the new Westin grille guard adds heavy-duty front-end protection, as well as a rugged new aesthetic to General Motors’ full-size truck models.

The new Westin Sportsman X Grill Guard for Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups is constructed from heady-duty 1 5/8-inch outer steel tubing as well as heavy-duty 2 1/4-inch wide upright steel tubing. The headlamp area comes with 3/4-inch crossbars to add extra strength to the grille guard wings.

The grille comes is compatible with the company’s removable center mesh panel, and can be paired with a 26-inch DRL LED lighting kit (sold separately).

There’s also a smaller removable mesh panel designed for the factory sensor location, which is included as standard with the grille guard. Certain applications can be paired with a Sportsman X-specific sensor kit (sold separately).

Lower in the grille is a die-stamped exterior step plate for easy access to the engine compartment.

The Westin Sportsman X Grille Guard is covered in an “e-coated” base coat to protect against corrosion, and comes with a textured black finish. The kit includes all the mounting brackets and all the hardware needed to fit it to a new Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra pickup truck, and is backed by a three-year warranty as well.

Designed specifically for larger grille openings like those on the latest Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, the new Westin Sportsman X Grille guard looks impressive, with sturdy construction and a tough aesthetic that’s sure to turn heads. We also think it looks particularly good when equipped on a Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra covered in black paint, as featured in the photos above.
