Rendering Artist Draws Up A Chevy K5 Blazer With A Lamborghini V10

At last week’s SEMA360 online show, Chevrolet Performance pulled the wraps off of its Chevy K5 Blazer-E – a vintage ’74 Blazer powered by its modern-day Electric Connect And Cruise eCrate powertrain.

Now we’re turning our attention to another Chevy K5 Blazer with a rather unexpected powertrain swap, but while the Blazer-E ditched its Small Block V8 for something more efficient, this K5 is probably even more fuel-thirsty now than it was when it was stock.

That’s because this K5 Blazer, which is actually just a digital rendering slapped together by Instagram artist Timothy Adry Emmanuel, has a 5.2L Lamborghini V10 engine hiding under its hood. The engine swap is only where the upgrades for this fictitious custom Blazer begin, though. It also has a custom front end with a motorsports-style splitter, massive fender flares, a huge rear lower diffuser and a full roll cage. A set of sport alloy wheels wrapped in white letter Mickey Thompson slick tires and a light blue Richard Petty-inspired paint job complete the racing-inspired exterior appearance.

One thing we really appreciate about this rendering is the patina finish the artist decided to go with. It’d be tempting to cover this Lamborghini-powered Chevy K5 Blazer in a blemish-free coat of gloss or metallic paint, but we much prefer the worn-out vintage look. And as the artist says, fake patina like this can be better than real patina, as it means the owner doesn’t have to deal with rusted out body panels and other similar inconveniences. Not that it really matters in this case, as this vehicle only exists on our computer and phone screens.

There’s definitely a lot going on with this K5 Blazer between the GT3 race car-inspired aerodynamics, Lamborghini engine and NASCAR-style window net and roll cage, but we still dig the look. Feel free to us know what you think of this imaginative rendering in the comments below.

  2. I would think the Lamborghini part of this kind of disqualifies it from the USA-1 lineage, or has the meaning of it changed without my knowledge?

    Nice patina though!
